the defense and coaching has to improve and they have to make the playoffs first then win a divisional playoff game lots of questions for this team

Oh, that's all...questions? What if the Dallas offense gives it a lead for the start of all 4th quarters?

A sophomore season isn't our 2nd year starting. It's your 2nd year in the league. That's homer fan spin to suggest otherwise.

I don't expect Rayne to slump. I expect him to play to his talent level and the Cowboys to draft a QB in the 1st round next year.

Is that with or without a leap year...since one avoids the real issue of sequenced success.

LOL wut

In both 2014 and 2016 we were literally a play or two away from making the conference championship game. I'd classify that as "sniffing".

LOL, Don't mess with a perfectly disgruntled fan using logic...:)

Not trying to speak for the masses....but I think we all would take a 1 point victory in the Super Bowl. Convincing would be nice. But a victory even by a single point would mean everything.

Yeah, but you'll get naysayers - "it was only 1 point" - "they barely won" - "if Edelman catches that ball on 3rd down Dallas loses by 2 touchdowns" whatever.

I want to go into the game against a team like the Patriots and beat their *** 38-10.

Interesting article but it completely misses the point. The success or failure of the 2017 Dallas Cowboys will depend on their defense not their offense and any possible sophomore slump by Dak.

Yes sir Big Dog! The thread could've stopped right here.

When you consistently are in the bottom ten in Def. Pass Rating as we've been for ten years combined with an inability to get to the quarterback that's all you need to know about the Super Bowl code.

It's really interesting when you look across the league and see teams with a lot of talent like Buffalo and Kansas City and Houston that have every piece but the quarterback and yet we have struggled complimenting ours. Dak did his job all season last year and he did his job against the Packers, but like as so many times before, the defense was just not good enough.

Maybe....hopefully, we have turned the corner this year. I can't wait!

IMHO, the biggest needed change to the SB code for Dallas is producing a solid pass rush and secondary. Our new and hopefully improved pass rush with Damontre Moore being a hopeful, along with Taco, Maliek Collins and Tapper should make some semblance of an impact.

The offense could also stand becoming a tad more dynamic and might end up doing just that with a few new tweaks like Gathers, Switzer and the Dak/Zeke duo being one year further along in their development.

Anything can happen, despite the C'boys' Super Bowl qualifying process still being in a developmental stage. I think it's more likely to occur in 2018 to be totally candid, although a surprise SB visitation this year would undoubtedly be welcome.

Could not agree more with your opening statement. But counting on Tapper is akin to counting on Jaylon. Both are coming off significant career threatening injuries and Tapper is nursing a hip on top of that. Jaylon was at least productive in college, while Tapper is still all about athleticism and potential. If Tapper provides anything, it's the sprinkles on the sundae. The ice cream is going to have to be provided by Maliek, Irving, Taco and D-Law (another guy coming off injury). Damontre, Benson and/or any one of the other UDFAs will be the wild cards.

If they make it to the Super bowl then yes. If not, then no.

I'd venture to say that virtually every one of our prospective talents at DL have limitations of one kind or another. Any one or more of them could be the key to having a vastly improved pass rush if good health and their development permits. Let's just hope a few of them come to terms with their limitations and develop into viable threats to deliver QB pressure and reliable run plugging as well. The talent is there. All that remains is for their health and talents to be maximized and put to good use.

Ask Tom Brady about the Super Bowl the Pats won when the idiot Seahags threw the game away. He will proudly just show you his Super Bowl ring even though everyone knows they didn't win it the Seahags lost it.

But I agree a 38-10 beat down of Belicheat and gang would be oh so sweet.

I think they have most pieces in place (if Dak is not a one year wonder) except the HC position. I do not see Garrett ever winning a Superbowl unless we assemble a roster so good that he X's & O's do not matter.
