Have we become so used to Jerry that anytime he does bare minimum we praise him?

Whatever already. This team is what it is.

I wish it was different also, but it’s based on a total lie because Jerry thinks he deserves to go down in football history the way he wants to be seen because he thinks very much of himself.

I’m looking forward to some decent football before Jerry sticks his beak in and crushes any shot Shoddy has to get this team into the correct mindset, then blame him.

Genuinely curious, and this isnt to spark an angry debate.

This is a genuine question from someone that has seen this happen time and time again and wants to gauge why this happens here all the time.

Have we as a fanbase, become so used to Jerry and his family failing, that any time he does the BARE MINIMUM of his job description, we praise him for it?

Are we this conditioned by his terrible off-seasons that when he does literally the bare minimum of signing a guy on time or using FA the way everyone else does we celebrate it like we just won our 6th?

Why do fans who are justifiably upset and taking a wait and see approach ostracized so much on this site?

I am excited about the moves that were made, but I am cautiously optimistic mainly because I have 0 faith in the head coach of this team.

Can they prove me wrong, of course, and I will be the first to admit it, but can we stop praising people for showing up to work?
Nope. I ignore him and hope he's letting someone else make decisions.

Who the heck ever praised him for doing bare minimum? I would think many of us have been ready to burn him at the stake for the past 20 years.

C'mon, Whirly, stop the Rocky cheap shots.
I already apologized for it, I didn’t think I used the word fan, I thought I used the word support, that was my bad. I agree I was trying to ask an honest question as you will see further through the thread.

But it already has set off a landslide, because they misinterpreted my intention, I was curious just like he was, why do people support the Cowboys if they don’t approve them
Me it’s because of the star and what it represents
And I wanted to know, his honest opinion, I wasn’t being derogatory and I didn’t have an agenda

I mean, you're talking to a group of people who have largely accepted Brian Schottenheimer as the Head Coach.

In that monstrosity lies your answer.
Not all of us have accepted the career assistant who was passed over 27 times

I’m a huge critic of Jethro. And think he deserves all the criticism he’s endured.

I also think most fans generally are going to look for the upsides. Afterall this is a sports team they are rooting for not their stock market investment.

So like with most fans around the league every offseason and this time of year is a time for renewed optimism . Reality begins after Labor Day.

Give it time. If it begins to go south the outrage will return.

Right. He still hasn’t had a winning record. And wonder why he was passed over by rest of league.

Jethro and the Cowboys don’t pursue or attract the premier HC’s unless their phone isn’t ringing.

That's my take as well.

I think Jerry definitely wanted Parsons back but also badly wanted to win the contract battle with Parsons and his agent, but that gave the rest of the front office time to convince him to trade Parsons.
I’m not even sure the rest of front office convinced him. I tend to think once Parsons was disrespected he wanted out ( he stated he wanted out) and forced the trade orchestrated by his agent and Green Bay.

Once Jethro realized there was no return and with season approaching had little choice but to take deal as Parsons would have likely sat out.
