Have we been lucky thus far regarding injuries?

I feel like in years past, we'd have probably 4 or 5 key guys on IR at this point, or at least missing a large portion of season.

Yes, I know about Sean Lee. I know about Claiborne. And Lawrence with the 8 week thing. And some less serious stuff like Free and Carter. Every single team is going to have multiple injuries by now. But there haven't been any devastating injuries. Or in other words, our best starters are staying relatively healthy.

Or is it perhaps that the dropoff between our injured players isn't too far to the backup?

Not really sure what my point is, but I just get the feeling that while we don't have many superstars on this team, we have 53 solid players who can all contribute in some capacity if the person in front of them went down.

The only exception to this right now is probably Romo. I still don't trust Weeden to be the next guy up if he were needed, god forbid

But anyway, what do you guys think? Have all the dumb hammy and groin problems passed us by? Or do we fall in line with the rest of the league's injury average?

The next guy to get hurt is entirely your fault. :)

That's a big reason why our record is what it is. We've been relatively healthy and it would be tough to find anyone who has had less injuries than us. Very fortunate this year so far.

If one of our star players (Romo, Murray, Dez, Tyron, Frederick..) gets hurt and is out for the year, I may cry.

Don't know if I would use the word luck. Dallas lost their starting LB to start season and 2nd pick would miss 8 games. You can add into that Carter and McClain missing time thru the season. Mo Claiborne goes out for the year. Is Dallas healthiest team in division...probably. But they are from from being lucky with injuries.

In years past we weren't one of the luckier teams with injuries. We we're always one of the worst.

Yep. We definitely haven't been "lucky." Since we've been doing well, it's easy to forget about our injuries. But imagine if we were as bad as we were expected to be. Our only star player (Lee) and the guy we drafted to be our saviour basically missed the season before it even started. If we would have started horribly, people would have said it was because of the injuries to Lee and Lawrence.

lol what? our defense is riddled with injuries. it is just the role players have stepped up. Romo's back injury probably cost us a game against the 9ers.

I agree. It's bad juju. But it's out of the tube now, there's no getting it back in. All we can do is disagree with the OP and say that, in fact, we've been decimated with soft tissue injuries and that it's about time for us to finally get healthy here in the coming weeks. Say it with a straight face, and don't let anybody tell you otherwise. These injuries are killing me.
