Have we closed the gap on the Eagles?

how many better players do we need to have to trump the big differences in coaches?

LOL at double overrating Dez.

It's not about overrating Dez.

It's about thinking a guy who averages around 45 catches a year and hasn't been healthy for the past two years is better than Bryant is a real reach.

Let's try to be a bit realistic here. Hurns isn't better than Bryant but that's not what the Cowboys are looking for anyway it appears. They are looking to spread the ball around and get away from that dominant #1 type WR. Hurns fits into that.

"Cowboys fans" kissing the iggles feet. Disgusting. There is no gap to the advantage of the iggles.

I love how what is largely rational analysis is somehow "kissing" a team's feet.

The Eagles won the SB. They have an advantage at key positions. Their coaching certainly appears to be better. We have to catch them, not the other way around. There's no shame in being realistic and admitting that.

I have to say that since winning the Super Bowl, it seems that they've had a real run of bad luck. From Bennett's charges, to Worley's meltdown, to the injuries to Jernigan and Graham.

Let’s hope the bad luck continues.

After watching these two games against the eagles ( the first one without elliot) and the second one against the eagles backups, I wonder if our Oline can hold up against their Dline.

What do you guys think? I’m cautiously optimistic that we did a little.

We better not sleep on the Giants this year, and I'm not too worried about the Feagles with their QB controversy.

You are the biggest iggle's feet kisser of them all. You call propaganda, rational analysis. You love their coach and hate ours. We won 5 SBs but it seems the iggle's 1 SB is a bigger deal to you. Be an iggles fan, we don't need you.

LOL. You struggle with reality. I get it. It's hard for homers like yourself to come to grips with the reality that often surrounds this team. In this case, the Eagles are likely the better team right now. It's not exactly a bizarre opinion as most pundits and analysts outside of Dallas (and frankly, I suspect many in Dallas) would agree that right now, one would be hard pressed to suggest the Cowboys are a better team than Philly.

Doesn't mean that maybe, just maybe, the Cowboys rise up and win the division or finally make some playoff noise this year, but right now, on paper, it's tough to argue that the Cowboys are now as good or better than the SB champ.

Their coach just won a SB in Year 2. In Year 7, Garrett has one playoff win. It's not love to suggest their coach is better than ours.

It's just common sense.

you read it right, Feagles..lol
They need to figure out if their SB winning QB is going to be a backup

They already did. Wentz will be the starter if/when he's cleared from his knee injury. Foles will be the backup unless someone gets desperate and needs a QB in August (like when they pawned Bradford off on the Vikings a couple of years ago).

You keep digging that hole deeper and deeper that you are indeed an iggles fan. You didn't dispute a single point I made. You may as well concede the fact... you are an iggles fan.

I'd be saying the same thing if it were the Giants that had won the SB last year with a young coach. Or the Commanders.

I clearly disputed what you said. You claim I love the Eagles coach. I don't. I just am applying common sense and rational thinking where a SB winning head coach would be viewed as a better coach than one that has one playoff win in 7 years.

I mean think about how stupid one sounds trying to argue the other way.

If anybody's "digging a hole" here, it's you.

Showing that you obviously lack the maturity to be able to give credit where credit is due. That's the behavior of a child. A child can't have anyone else getting something that they don't have. A child can't accept someone other than themselves getting credit.

If that's how you or anyone else incapable of giving the Super Bowl Champions the credit they've earned and deserve want to be viewed, you're doing a great job of it.

If/when the Eagles win Super Bowl LIII they will still be 3 Lombardi Trophies behind the Cowboys. Nothing can change that, and there isn't an Eagles anywhere who will try and argue otherwise. The Cowboys' problem isn't the Eagles. The Cowboys' problem is the Cowboys. They aren't playing up to their own potential. Until they start playing up to the level of Skip Bayless' hype, they will be looking up at the other NFC East teams rather than looking down at them.

The Cowboys defense and OL should be better this year, but in the end it's the QB play that puts you over the top. Personally I think Dak bounces back this year.

Cowboys offensive focus is and will be on Zeke's running. No Dez may actually improve the offense.

Lots of people say "you can't have a running back based offense these days as the rules are set", but I don't think that applies to a team that has a dominant running back like Zeke. Or Bell in Pittsburgh, either. The league evolves and devolves over time, who knows, maybe it's time for the running back based offenses to re-emerge, with the Cowboys leading the way...

Just wanted to chime in here. With the amount of change you’ve had this off season I don’t think there’s any way of knowing what you guys are. It’s going to have to play out.
Schematic changes almost always means there will be struggling at first. It’s hard enough getting timing down in camp let alone when someone is punching you in the mouth. You will struggle early on. Maybe it gets better. Maybe.
For the “no Dez,no problem” crowd, I’m not so sure about that. Clearly when you have one player who constantly commands more attention from a defense that’s an advantage that should have been taken advantage of. You blew it! Him as a decoy is worth more than two speed guys that have done next to nothing more n the league.
I’m a firm believer that any strong defense is structured to stout up the middle. And as I see it that’s the one area you are weak at. Extremely weak. Your DT’s aren’t stout enough to protect your MLB ( who has issues getting off blocks at the college level. Think it gets better when n the NFL?) and your safety is too young to help. I think you will see the middle of your defense will be abused.

Nope it's the coaching that puts you over, how many times has Garrett cost his team wins because of poor clock management and play calling?

You're right about the middle of the defense.
The Cowboys DC wants every DL to shoot gaps and pressure the QB. The issue with that
is he has so devalued the NT position to the point where the pencilled in starter is a guy we signed off of Green Bay's practice squad last August, or if he's healthy, an under tackle - 3 tech - who has had a broken foot every year back into college in Maliek Collins.
As far as Safety is concerned, I would trade five Jeff Heaths for one Malcolm Jenkins.
We have a nice set of DEs, a nice starting 3 tech and what looks to be a nice set of corners. I think our defense can be solid- to pretty good, but until they stop ignoring Safety and NT it will never be elite.

I watched the first game between our teams and was amazed at how many times Irvin was fooled by the “wham” play. They literally didn’t block him but he kept taking himself out of the play rushing up field. It was embarrassing.
My point in bringing that up is if teams do that with ease what you’ll see is bigger players getting to LVE and a stated weakness of his is getting of blocks. And you know Heath won’t hold up having the tackle big backs for 16 weeks.
