Emmitt in Kenneth Coles at the Gallaria in Dallas. We were both buying shoes and he picked up the pair I was going for.

Had a nice chat, top man.

He bought more shoes than me.

Roger Staubach briefly in the DFW airport once. Very quick shook his hand and moved on.

The best was Tony Dorsett in in the Midland/Odessa Airport. A quiet day with few others there and we were waiting on the same late plane. Had a conversation with him for about 2 hours. He had been in town for a charity softball game and was playing with his new softball glove. He was really cool and we checked out some flight attendants (still stewardesses in those days)...he was a regular guy and one of my all time favorites.

Bill Bates at an autograph session

LeRoy Jordan and Chuck Howley at seperate convention appearances.

I have met a number of them... Tony Dorsett (24 hour fitness), Emmitt Smith (galleria), Daryl (northpark) Johnson, Robert Newhouse (went to school with his son) Drew Pearson (went to school with his daughter) Michael Irvin and Deion (played basketball with them) Eric Williams, Darren Woodson (out kickin it), George Teague (neighbors of a friend) Randy White (Friend of a friend) Alvin Harper, Ed Too Tall Jones, Patric Crayton (verizon store)...the list could go on with insignificant cowboys

kenyon rambo (real butt), troy hamberick, and the back rb (i think his name is wiley or something)...thats all i can think of.

I was playing baseball in El Paso and somehow the General Manager got together enough Cowboy players to come in and play a softball game against us. Didn't really get to talk with a lot of them, but made darn sure I met and talked to Danny White.

As a side note, Omar Bradley was there that day as well. Got to meet him and thank him.

I grew up playing catch with Drew Pearson. His brother was best friends with my mom and Drew would come back to NJ to visit his mother and catch the high school games. Good guy

Ran into him a year or two back at a book signing for "Hail Mary." Got to check out his ring.

Had my picture taken with Troy when he came to a football camp I attended as a kid.

I went to high school and was on the track team with Kalen Thornton. I wish things had gone better for him with his knee, but he's a smart guy and I'm sure he'll have no problem living a life outside of football.

The only football player i have met in person is Joey Galloway. When i met him first, he was first traded to TB and i went out to eat with him. The last time i met him was last october when i attended the TB vs. Titians game in TB. I stayed at his house and went to a really nice steak house in Tampa. Although he did not produce well for the 'Boys, he is an overall nice guy. He likes to joke. After the Titans game, i went back to his house to watch the then undefeated 'Boys play the then undefeated Patriots. He seen how into the game i was and how i was pissed that the 'Boys were losing and told me "It's gonna be alright big man." i had a really nice time.

I met Emmitt and Jerry Jones (he autographed my game program) at the Falcons game in 2001 at the Georgia Dome. Robert Chancey is my distant cousin. He was the 3rd string RB behind Emmitt and Chris Warren back in '99. As for family of the players, at that same 2001 Falcons game, I met George Teague's brother and Quincy Carter's mother as well as a few aunts and cousins.

Everson Walls, Eugene Lockhart, Steve DeOssie, Ron Fellows, and some others in the '80s at a basketball fundraiser.

Chad Hennings at a Church fundraiser and book signing for his book "It Takes Commitment". I asked him about his favorite Super Bowl and he surpringly told me XXX. He said that he actually tipped one of the interceptions that Larry Brown caught. After going back and watching, sure enough he did. He also had a couple of sacks.

DeMarcus Ware and Chris Canty in '06 at a Wal-mart in Arlington.
