Having Tyron Smith back in the lineup is huge, Dez not needed

There is no doubt that Dez is a good player. Theirs team is better with him than without him. That having been said, Dez is eating a **** load of cap room. It is a reasonable thing to evaluate whether that cap space could be better used someplace else, also he is one of the few players that is worth something in trade for draft picks. He would fetch a premium draft pick in return. Would you trade him and if so what would you take for him?

this team should seriously think about getting rid of Romo this offseason to save....as for Dez....i wouldnt be to big in a hurry (yet) to run him. i do like how Butler has stepped up in Dez's absence.

The cap hit for Romo next year would not save us money. In 2018, he's likely gone.

I think Leary has made a huge difference in the run game.

Collin may have higher ceiling but Leary is a beast RIGHT NOW. I would love to sign Leary now and start trying Collins out at RT. I think he is athletic enough to do it. May take a little time and cajoling but RT will may more $$ anyway.

Not trying to take this in a different direction, but are any of you in complete disbelief that we have so many people out and just keep hitting on all cylinders?

What a difference a year makes. I like how Prescott spreads the ball around, which shows you dont need a star receiver to win a game.

With that said a star receiver does take a lot of pressure off of other players, but its clear now we dont need to invest heavily in a stud number 2. Dez will be Dez and the offense and the Cowboys offense will be better in the long run having him out there.

We've been hit in areas we have depth. O-line, CB, QB, RB, etc.

I could see the need for another WR being added in the next draft to offset further injuries to Dez and possibly to others as well.

A speedy WR with size and overall ability would also prove valuable in case T-Will isn't inclned to re-sign with the team in 2017.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind spending a highish pic next year on WR. But I also wouldn't mind bringing TWill back, I don't see a lot of teams beating down his door to pay him a bunch of money

We have to think at this point how much salary cap we can shed to add a good consistent WR, keep adding to defense, and maybe add some OL depth.

Romo and Dez are the two most obvious positions we have to look at. We demolished one of the NFL best defenses with $40 million in cap space wasting away on the bench. Completely wasted. I knew not having them wouldn't matter with Dak leading the charge.

Anyway, what changes can we make to have a good sustainable dynasty for the forseeable future. This is not a time to revert to our old losing ways, but rather think of how we can make this even better. Any good thoughts from anyone?

Honestly for what Dak is needing to do right now, Dez is not that necessary BUT that will change and there will be times when you don't run the ball for 9 yards a clip and you actually need a passing attack to win. Right now Dak just needs to continue to convert 3rd downs because our Oline is so strong and he is doing that well. If anyone on this board believes Romo can't do what Dak is doing right now they need their head examined

He might be tempted to bolt for another team once he becomes a free agent -- that's when the offers come in, not legally before. DE and MLB might be our highest priorities, perhaps WR or safety might come next. Of course, need doesn't necessarily govern drafting order, so we'll see how all of that plays out on draft day.

All it will take is another week of the T-Wll brain freeze and Butler dropping a TD in the end zone and you guys will again be crying for a heavy dose of Dez! Dreaming of him throwing up the X repeatedly! Then everything will right in the world once again!

Not going to happen. Dak is making T-Will, Beasley, Butler play to their potential. Dez is no longer needed.

How soon we forget! A few good games give people amnesia! Remember last season when these two guys were MIA or hurt repeatedly? Especially Williams. He was like Claude Rains last year! (For those youngsters who do not know Claude, Google him)! Lol!

I know you haven't been a fan prior to this season, but maybe do some homework. The only player putting up better numbers is Beasley. That's because Witten is slowing down and his targets are going elsewhere.

T. Williams, D. Bryant, and J. Witten were much more productive under Tony.
