HC Mike McCarthy on Ezekiel Elliott Smacking his "backside"

I played baseball. We touched hands. Sometimes open, sometimes a fist.

I dunno how y’all big tough football dudes like to touch each other lol, lower I guess…but….hey I’m just having fun.

While we are doing all that fun, my interpretation of it all, from the standpoint of what Zeke meant….

‘I’m going to respect you, because I’m wise enough now to know that you need me to do that, but I got a direct line to Jerry, so don’t mess with me. I’m gettin my carries.’

I know you meant this in fun but that attitude runs counter to everything we have seen from Zeke in terms of being a team player. He has mentored his backups even so well that one of them was given his job. He has sacrificed his body hundreds of times for the good of the team and he was Tony Pollard's biggest cheerleader when he made a play. The only exception to the team first attitude was the holdout but the Cowboys deserved that after how they treated Murray and how they were trending towards doing the same to Zeke. If we're okay with owners reminding us that "it's a business" when they release a player then we have to be okay with a player pointing that particular rifle right back at them.

Definitely meant in fun, and while I’m no Zeke fan overall (sorry), it was more of a dig at Jerry and his thinking that his personal relationships with players, and them having a direct line to him, isn’t problematic or undermining the HC.

Yeah DGMS on Jerry's insistence on creating a circus around the team. I have been railing against it for over 20 years. It all really hit me when I took the stadium tour on a Saturday and our tour was able to be on the sidelines during the team's walk-through. The lunacy of it all just came rushing to my mind. As we were walking with our tour Romo threw a sideline fade to Dez which he elevated and brought down.. less than 5 feet away from me. I immediately thought "This is stupid, we have no business in here." I think the Ringing Brothers, Barnum and Bailey atmosphere hurts our team. But I know it's not going anywhere until Jerry goes to meet his maker. Stephen is not any smarter than Jerry, but he's also not as big into the "show business" part of the business. Hopefully the football people will be able to get him to relent on some of the nonsense that goes on around the team once Jerry steps aside or is sent "home!"

Yeah I’m also hoping he doesn’t have the great desire to be a celebrity the way Jerry does.

He really does have a shot to endear himself to the fans by stepping aside, saying he wanted to do it all along, but Jerry didn’t want to and he had to respect it.

That’s what I’m clinging to at this point lol.

Mike McCarthy when he sees Zeke coming over to smack his backside

the Cowboys deserved that after how they treated Murray
You know what is funny about this statement. How they "treated" Murray was an absolute master class in how to run a successful NFL franchise. And you know what they learned from it? Absolutely nothing. It just goes to show that the front office have no plan or identity they are just winging it.

If you are a turd that was flushed you do not come back and start slapping the coach in the ***. Zeke is a POS who thinks his is back home and large and in charge again. This entire team has a rotten culture and stinks at the core.

You alwayz did hate 'im.

You've never been, "Good gamed?"
Only certain players can do it at certain times.

Some of these guys are acting like mm drops trou soon as zeke steps out the lambo. Some of these comments ....scuse me "jokes" are even weirder than zeke.

Not true. I will confess I was sad that they drafted an RB 4th overall. Then I saw him play. Then I said that he was quite possibly the best player in all of football. Then came the suspension. Then came the hold out. Then came the weight gain. Gone was the speed. Gone was the explosiveness. Gone was the production. All that was left was dead cap.

Thank for the correction. I suppose "always" was indeed a slight exageration.:)
