On the down hill slide and Dallas does not need to waste the money for guys like this. I respect the career of Taylor but Dallas has been through this before with the signing of once good players who are past their prime.

Wasn't this guy voted "Defensive Player of the Year" just LAST YEAR. Wow, that dude really fell fast!! How old is he? 32? Man, even I could still run at 32. Must be something in the water in Miami......haha.:laugh1:

Don't know if Taylor has lost a step or not. I do think the failure of their offense to do much keeps the defense on the field too long and in that Miami heat that's curtains. I mean imagine Taylor's dilemma in trying to get to Romo who moved around so much against them. I remember when someone asked Urlacher about the difficulty in playings the Cowboys. Urlacher said their whole problem re our offense was all about Romo and their inability to get to him; he just wore them out.

So what I dont want him. He is going to cost a team a high pick and he is too old. I had a feeling he was going to hit the wall sometime. Hes slowed down some and he's never been the strongest guy.

That would be back up OLB behind Ware and Spencer. Even behind Ellis.

C'mon... I don't want Taylor here, but if he did come here he'd start opposite Ware.

The guy might be slowing down, but he did win Defensive Player of the Year last year. He's better at 36 (or however old he is) then Ellis was in his prime. And Spencer could learn a lot sitting behind a potential Hall of Famer in Taylor.

Again, that said, no thanks. He'd cost to much and he's not really a need.

What does "slowed down" mean for a freak athlete like Jason Taylor?

Does it mean he cannot cover WRs anymore?

If so, Taylor at 34 is still head and shoulders above any pass rusher not named Ware currently on the Dallas Cowboys.

If Jerry can swing a deal for him, it would be even bigger than the Haley trade.

Dallas D would become elite overnight. Both Ware and Taylor would not only be demonic pass rushers, but playmakers in coverage as well.

Playing opposite Ware would also re-energize Taylor, who would not have to face double teams all game long.

Is he? I have watched him in 3 games this year and he was shut down in all three games. He does not look like a pro-bowler this season much less DPOY.

I agree that the team needs some pressure players. They have the outside guys. They need some that can do it from the inside especially when they are in their base set. A DE or inside LB that can also create pressure is what the team is really lacking. Wade's defenses in SD had at various times either a DE or ILB that could create pressure. This Dallas team does not. Canty, Spears and whomever else along the line and Akin and Bradie are not doing that in the base 3-4. I can't see Taylor playing any of those positions.

This is Spencer's rookie season. He only has 1 sack, but I will cut him some slack since he is learning a new position and the NFL game in general.

OK, I don't know that I've seen him do nothing, other then this past weekend against NE, where they pretty much doubled and trippled him all game long but if we want to say that he is not on a DPY type role, I can live with that. He is down from last year and so, that's probably fair. Having said that, he has very little help on the defensive side of the ball this year. Of the defensive starters on that team, nobody other then Taylor has more then 1 sack.

Right now, Taylor does have 27 tackles (22 Solo), 4 Sacks, 1 Int, 1 TD, 1 PD and 3 FFs.

You compare this with Ware for the season and Ware has 34 tackles (27 Solo), 5.5 Sacks, 0 INTs, 0 TDs, 2 PDs and 1 FF.

I'd have to say that Ware has a lot more help.

I mean, the whole idea was to bring Spencer along. He's not going to start this season, or probably next very shortly.

Jimmy Johnson used to say, if you have a chance to get a great player, get him. Doesn't matter if you need him or not, just get him. IMO, I do think we need at least one other pass rusher on our defense.

I'd get him if I could.

Ellis has 4.5 sacks in 3 less games. :D I kid. Ellis is not as good as Taylor.

I like Taylor and would not mind seeing him in Dallas. I just think Dallas can get by with the outside pass rushers they have and can better use draft picks(instead of a trade) and free agent money to fill other needs. If after they fill those needs and they still have an opportunity to get Taylor, then fine, but he does not need to be a priority.

Him being 34 next season does concern me some. He may have been DPOY just last season, but sometimes in the NFL the skills just go away quickly. Like I said earlier, Charles Haley was only 28 when Dallas got him. He was a pro-bowler at age 31 with double digit sacks and then his career was essentially over at age 32.

Haley had back problems by the end of his career. Taylor right now, is on one of the worse, if not worst team in the NFL, defensively and offensively, and he isn't getting any help. If you can get Taylor for once last leg, it shuold be done.

I think the points you make are valid. I mean, I don't know what would be asked for Taylor. Heck, they may be willing to trade for a player and picks or who knows. I would not go crazy to get him but, if the opportunity were there, I'd certainly take it. A guy like that, with our offense, might be the ticket to beating a team like NE in the east. I watched Brady against us and I believe that if we could have sustained the pressure on him, we could have beaten them. Maybe I'm looking at it through the old Cowboy Shades but seriously, this is the kind of player I see coming into a good team and maybe making the difference. We are a lot closer to a Superbowl then maybe we realize. I watched that NE game and I seriously saw the diffence between our two respective teams. Talent wise, it's not that far appart at all. Experience was the big thing IMO. Penalties were a problem but more then that, 3rd down efficency killed us. We were so close on several occasions to getting Brady in the pocket. I can't help but think that a guy like Taylor could be the diffence in Brady and the Pats being succesful on 64.7% of there third downs against us and maybe getting our offense back on the field. Two years ago, I would never have considered it because I don't think we were there. This year, I think we might be close enough. Now, everybody might laugh at that but seroiusly, the more I re-watch that game, the more I think that we might be closer then we think.

Burger King twice now being labeled a liar

He asked a slanted question that per his words in recent interview that Jason did not answer when asked if he wish he had been traded?.

Burger King took the sneaky approach of going with story and saying well he didn't say no angle. I'm that Player I go after Burger King. He is jading him with Miami fans.
