Jimmy Johnson never seemed to be as good in miami after leaving the cowboys, who still won with barry switzer.
Jimmy won the national championship in his first stint in the city of Miami. This is ALWAYS conveniently forgotten when trying to bash one of the greatest coaches ever.

Oh, and Jimmy was the first coach to accomplish winning a national championship and a SB.

And it's not like the Dolphins sucked with Jimmy as head coach. They were a playoff team.

Only Jimmy Johnson is found lacking for not winning the title everywhere he went. Nobody else has ever accomplished that either.

There is a large contingent in here that don’t see the difference in MM and S. Payton. Of course this guy is ranking isn’t gospel, but that’s how most of the football world views the two.

I’m surprised at the outrage of McCarthy’s ranking. While meaningless, even many of those on this forum credit the offense to Moore, and the D to Quinn. He is in charge of game management which has been a source of much criticism.

Thankfully, we will see what he can do calling plays this season but I’m not surprised at this meaningless ranking. I guess it’s cool for us to crap on big Mike but don’t let anyone else do it.

MM has not proved anything beyond benefiting from coaching favre and rodgers. The decisions and results with dallas have not convinced anyone he is a top 5 or 10 coach. Not to mention his hiring blunders with his assistants and the fact the team thinks the DC is the real coach. Now he is calling the plays and coaching for his job after getting Kellen fired.

Lol, and behind the two straight 12 win seasons, the big 5 pay positions all in position to be continued for 3-5 seasons:

They should rename it the Coaches Popularity Rankings.

Well, he's done pretty well with a QB you think very little of.
He has?

What's he done? What's been won?

He has a winning record in Dallas when the QB is in street clothes.

However, McCarthy is 10x better at his job than Dak is at his.

How many SB’s did Rodgers win after McCarthy? Does back to back 12-5 seasons mean anything? How about similar numbers to genius Payton? Also, how do you know the team thinks DQ is the real HC? Sounds like you just don’t like him, and are grasping at straws.

Of course, McCarthy IS fat….

Our OL is in shambles, our QB1 stinks, the HC is a fat loser, our WR group is inadequate, and the FO personnel are clueless idiots who don’t care about winning. How did we ever go 24-10 the last two years? Mountain Boy has it pegged, huh?

That list is laughable!!
No way McCarthy is that far down at 21. Oh well....
I agree, and the next couple years will give him a chance to prove it. I say a couple years because it may take a season for some of our new draft talent to develop. I think McCarthy played a big part in this spring's draft. This year and especially next year McCarthy will have a chance to show us what he can do, that'll tell the story one way or the other.

MM destroyed the packers and got fired , the team got better after he left no team hired him and he sat at home watching games before Jerry hired him .
he brought his defensive assistsnt buddy and others and and failed with a 6-10 season , before Jerry and Stephen appointed staff for him and took him off the team draft discussions. Go back and see how he admitted he is not involved in player selections.
hardly a top tier coach.

"If you look at the history of our offense here," McCarthy said. "2020 was really trying to figure out who we were wanting to be. I think the evolution from 2021 to 2022 is really the direction we want to continue to build off of."

With a relatively new offensive hierarchy, how will things change without Moore calling plays for the first time since 2019? The first true change would appear in a shift of language and communication. Both elements are established very early in the offseason and first put to the test throughout this week's OTAs.

In 2022, the efficiency ratings took a step forward while the yards per game numbers took a minor hit. The Cowboys finished first in red zone efficiency (71.4%) and fifth in third down conversion percentage (45.5%) after finishing outside the top five in both categories the year before. While the team finished 11th in total yards per contest (354.9).

You sure have a lot of faith in MM . remember this at the end of this coming season , if they win 10 regular season games with him calling the offense it will be a great accomplishment .

You guys should do your own rankings, bet they are all different.
I think rankings should be based on last years performance, not years past.
I might take that image and just move the pictures around .

Pretty ridiculous rankings IMO. I know it's pretty complex to rank HCs but there is no consistency in the methodology here. MM & Payton have nearly identical histories yet couldn't be farther apart. Sirianna & Daboll that high after one year? McDaniel is top half of the league after a 9-8 career record? Not to discredit these guys, but your going to put them over Pete Carroll who has both previous success and overachieved this past season?

This feels like they needed content quick and just slapped something together.
do your own rankings, top 10 or 12 would be good.
everyone here would have a different list.
