Philly had one of the worst defenses in the NFL last year. This year they now have a Top 3 D.

Amazing how quickly you can change things with a smart offseason that upgrades coaching and a few key positions.

How many think Jerry could pull that off?
That's what happens when you bring in probably the best DEF Coordinator around.

As Bill Parcells used to say 'I'm in the talent acquisition business'. Shame Jerry's not!

2023 - their Secondary struggled (run defense was good).......2024 - they spend 1st and 2nd Draft picks on the Secondary. It's a lot easier to strengthen that weakness if its a singular problem, im sure we need: O-Line, Receiving, RB, D-Line, MLB and Diggs out.

100% correct. People forget how Emmitt Smith dominated and could run out the clock.

Best way to fix an out of control QB market is to make running the football a priority again.
But that still requires a good run blocking O-line, which we don't have as yet.

One of the Eagles best defensive weapons is RB Saquon Barkley.

He is the reason that the Eagles offense was ranked #1 this season in average time of possession. Detroit was a very close 2nd.

Obviously, the team that has their offense on the field for the most time is also the team that has their defense on the field the least amount of time.

Barkley extends drives and eats time. it's an old recipe. Dallas has used it extensively throughout their history.

The Cowboys did this throughout the 70's, no big deal. Most teams did back then. However, there are two more recent examples.

The Cowboys did this in 2014 when Demarco Murray rushed for over 1800 yards, it's no coincidence that Tony Romo threw the fewest passes in a full season that year. This was also the only year that Romo led the league in passer rating.

The Cowboys did this again in 2016 with a rookie RB in order to operate with a rookie QB.

Also, you may recall that the defense was very poor the previous season. The stats were average but they no real playmakers. In 2015 the Cowboys were ranked dead last in turnover ratio and it wasn't entirely due to the quarterbacks thjat started in place of an injured Romo.

The defense at this point was notorious for their lack of takeaways. In 2015 they had a total of 8 INT's and 3 fumble recoveries.

Do I have confidence Jerry will make the necessary moves THIS offseason? No, but we did do something similar not too long ago when we had Mike Nolan and then the next season brought in Quinn and overnight became very formidable

One more note.

Philly was 10th in time of possession last year. 1st this year. They were 30th in scoring D, now 1st. They were 26th in yards alllwed and now they are first. Their improvement isn’t because they suddenly started eating way more clock than last year.

They upgraded their biggest weakness - secondary. They brought in new defensive coaches.

Jerry won’t be aggressive like that to fix our issues.

Most fans are asking for receivers tight ends and running backs lol. They don't care about the defense. I've said it before, most fans hate Jerry but think just like him.
Because as the defense got better the second half of the year, the team still couldn’t win because of lack of weapons on offense.

The team needs more than CD and Rico. Especially if the QB offers no mobility.

Lamar, Mahomes, Hurts, Allen, Stroud, Daniels can all move.

The Lions have an amazing 1-2 threat in the backfield.

The Vikings have a great DC, 2 stud WRs and an 1100 yard RB.

The Rams have 2 stud WRs and a 1,300 yard RB.

Weapons are needed. The defense needs help too, but Zimmer got them playing much better when Micah came back. After he adjusted the scheme following the bye.

I have confidence that Jerry will make the right moves with all of his buffer companies to keep Dallas at the top, as the most valuable franchise.

Free Agency he hates... someone else picked them first lol.

if you're trying to convince me they need a bunch of weapons for this qb you're wasting your time. I'm no longer interested in seeing playoff teams play zone defense essentially making the so called weapons obsolete and putting it all on Dak. No thanks

Yes. The skill positions have been allowed to atrophy. What's worse than making Dak Prescott the highest paid QB in the league? Surrounding him with mediocre talent.

They need multiple upgrades in the skill positions. More than two.

I doubt our crack front office will agree. They think we are stacked and only injuries held us back this year.

They also signed Zack Baun who turned out to be the best LBer in the league and all the Georgia Dawgs balling out.

It’s not happening, looks like MM and the same sad cast will be back. Jerry dug a deep hole the last 15 years and he just doesn’t understand what went wrong. When it comes to football I wouldn’t want Jerry in charge of a pee wee team. No new HC and staff just means more of the same excuses and Jerry speak. Sad but predictable based on the last 15 years. MM should have been rolled out of the building along with the entire staff at the end of the last game

So we need more 'skilled players' and nobody has accused either 'Line' of being even close to average.

We need to tank 2025 and rebuild from scratch.

I'd rather miss the playoffs the rest of daks time than pretend getting him weapons will do anything. I don't care about 12 win seasons and early exits but I know most of you fans love it like Jerry

Oh I read ya, bro. We need a lot.

But you don't have to be complete team to contend these days. You can turn this team into a contender next year. They just won't make the effort to do it. They'd rather sit around and compliment themselves on how well they run the team.
