Apparently Denver wants to get ahead of buffalo to get patrick willis. And apparently Houston is the team that is willing to deal with them.

If denver jumped to 10, I think that would be great for us. If Adrian Peterson falls to 10 and then Denver moves into that spot he would at least make it to 11, I dont think San francisco would take him.

So that leaves buffalo and then maybe it really will be time to figure out how bad we want Peterson, if he is there.

22=780
12=1200

so 420 Has to be made up. that would cost us our 2nd(370) and 4th(50).

So the question is Can julius jones recoup a 2nd and a 4th? Can he recoup a 3rd and a 5th? or is he only worth a 4th on draft day?

Very intersting to me, if julius could recoup a 2 or a 3 and 5 and you can get peterson from buffalo for the 22, 53 and 122 it would be something to think about.

So lets hope if they do want peterson that:

The Browns take quinn.
Houston doesnt want peterson
Houston and denver swap for willis if still there.

Just throwing it out there, what I heard, its a rumour from nfl sirius radio, please dont take this fact or hype...Just passing along something I heard which could lead to something I think!

Houston would be crazy to pass on Peterson.

they passed on Reggie Bush too though didnt they?

I really dont think they'll take him after what they spent on Ahman Green

We're talking about a team that passed on Reggie Bush and Vince Young.

True but Green is far from reliable.

True... and he is getting old... BUT... remember who you are dealing with here. The Houston Football-Astros have been making very poor draft decisions in recent history...

If that happens, we would HAVE to deal with San Francisco, and we'd HAVE to sell the farm to get Peterson, because Buffalo would be falling all over themselves to draft him at 12.

If we do make an offer, I see it going down like this - SF calls Buffalo and says "Dallas made us an offer - they're gonna select Peterson. We'd prefer trading down only one spot if you have something intriguing."

Basically, we'd have to give them a WOW deal. I don't even know if it's possible.

I would only like that IF we recouped a couple picks from JJ. If not-- then no deal. Personally I think running backs are an easy commodity to get and I'd prefer not gutting our draft to get one.

Also houston will get a bundle from denver and may get two starting lineman out of the picks they get.

Bundle seems to be the it word of the week doesnt it?

lets say Buffalo is sitting there at #12 with Adrian Peterson on the board, and we offer Buffalo Julius Jones and our 3rd round pick...that would definitely work!

exactly how I feel. If we could get a mid third and 5 or 6 for jones, then it wouldnt wreck our first day with two thirds and our second day would be pretty chock full, then that is where we really need the scouting department.

We could get back into the 4th with our 6ths I believe.

I dont want to overpay for peterson, but at the same time if jones brings anything on the first day back I think we would be okay.

I doubt Peterson drops that far. Green is a stop gap measure for Houston. I don't think his prescense would dissuade Houston from taking Peterson.

I think Buffalo will grab Peterson over Jones and a 3rd rd pick. I think other than Cleveland Buffalo is the most likely to make a move on Peterson and could very well make a trade up to get him.

I agree. But the problem is that folks want the next big star at running back. 'Boys have been blessed at that position and since JJ hasn't quite lived up to the billing, we want to trade him in.

Personally, I'd take a flier on Michael Bush in one of the later rounds if he's available.

Its real easy to SAY that good RBs are easy to find. BUT when you do it yourself it seems a lot harder to do.
