ES is finally facing reality.
http://www.extremeskins.com/forums/showthread.php?t=226039
I know this probably belongs in the NFL Zone but I had to post this link to an article and responses over at ES. It is definetly required reading.
I have never seen ES realistically assess the state of their team before. They finally admit Snyder's FA strategy is flawed after years of proclaiming that the "genius" Snyder was redefining how teams should be built in the FA era; The "saviour" Gibbs has lost it and his effectiveness as HC is somewhere between Norv Turner and Steve Spurrier; The players that before every season are proclaimed as top 5 talent across the board would actually be considered depth on most other teams; and the Skins of the last 15 years have become the new Cardinals, Bengals, Brown...all of which are playing better than the Skins are now.
The following posts just about sums up 95% of the nearly 100 posts in the thread:

But, the bottom line is we're a flawed team and a dysfunctional organization. Unless things change, you can expect even more seasons like 2007, which harken to the dark days of George Preston Marshall's Commanders that suffered through a good 20 years of mediocre to bad football until Vince Lombardi came to town.

This is not a good team. Its a flawed team from top to bottom. And I have a dark bad feeling its just not gonna change for the better for years to come.
What can we do? If my blood didn't flow burgundy and gold I would have left so long ago. But I cant. I love this team. I love what it stood for. But its not fun anymore. At all.

What makes me so low right now is this.
1. Our best player is DEAD.
2. Injuries. Injuries have killed us for the last 2yrs.
3.We have a HOF coach that dont even know the rules of football. He cant make Ajustment at halftime.
We have blown 6 Haftime leads.
Our Offense is down right putrid.
We have lost 6 Heart brakers.
4. We lost a game last sunday that we where suppossed to be honoring a fallen brother and lost it in crushing fashion. With that lost, our season is OVER.
5. The Cowboys( our arch Rival) are having the season of there life and they pulled a franchise QB out of there ***, that will be Killing us for the next 8 years.
6. Our young Qb is a turn over Machine and he is not making progress. I love him, but its the truth.
7. We have a bunch old *** players.
8. We wont get a GM.
Now I need a drink.

The o-line is aging, the D line has only one real threat, and he's average at best, Moss is your only real deep threat with no one to compliment him and we have very little in the way of depth. When Snyder bought this team, it inherited a mindset of win now with high-profile free agents and "sexy" first-round draft picks. We did that at the expense of using the rest of the draft to build depth, instead opting to give our draft picks away like candy. Thus, it's more disastrous to this team if it gets hit with injuries than it would be to other teams as they usually have someone who can step in immediately and not cause a noticeable drop-off. The performances of Todd Wade and Jason Fabini on the right side of the offensive line is living proof about our lack of depth.
We've gone 10-18 since that miracle playoff run of 2005 and, unless Snyder really commits to building this team the right way, it's going to get even worse before it gets better.
