Fine, I haven't been around to take a look at everything but I like the layout of this better and the only thing I liked about the old forum were the people and still missing some, the forum was always a problem technically.

But, one thing I know about is change so this just falls into line with everything else in my life the last 7 years and I've become more adaptive. But man, Capn, I still feel like I left family.

There's a post threshold before you get the likes. Don't remember what it is exactly, but it's in the tens of posts. Just enough to prove you're not a spambot.

The official forums run on IPB, which is very bloated software and relies heavily on caching to maintain decent performance. I bought IPB and tried using it on another site a few years ago because ignoring performance, it's solid forum software. However, any site with heavy traffic, especially like this one gets during games and during the draft, the site would be lagging constantly.

That was it, IPB, I Pretty Backed up. I'd have fleeting moments of brilliance, operative word there is fleeting, only to be waylaid and then decide to get bloated on beer.

Let me establish something here, when I use the word "technically" what I mean is it don't do what I want it to do when I want it to do it. I took a toaster to a small appliance repair guy and he asked me "what is technically wrong with it"? To which I replied, "I put bread in, push down the little flat button and it comes out bread again. I can bypass this appliance and just take the bread from the bag, put it on the plate and make a sammich that ain't crispy. If I knew what was technically wrong with it, I wouldn't be standing in this place talking to man that still has cableman terminal buttcrack from a failed career in electronics".

Just to be completely upfront about mechanics and technical stuff, when I went into the Navy, I was given a placement test. This tells them what strengths one might have so they can better fit you to a job. It had 3 parts and 1 was the technical section. My CPO met with me and told me congratulations, you scored in the top 5% in 2 of the 3 sections; however, in the engineering/technical section you were lacking. He held up a screwdriver and asked "which end of this would you use? I wouldn't let you touch one without an escort". I always thought I had plenty of time to get somewhere because the clock on my VCR said 0:00 and it was flashing so I figured it was working.

What I took form that was bloated, heavily and lagging, just like our run tackling.
