For the life of me, how was this not called? How could Aikman say it was a good 'non-call'?

I am NOT about ticky tack penalties - frankly I think these soft kid glove penalties against QBs are hurting the game on some level. But, this was so flagrant and obvious in my opinion. Am I missing something?

In super slo-mo hi-def the crown of the Commander players' helmet hit the helmet of Dak Prescott - plain as day. Was it that Dak's mouthpiece didn't go flying? That he wasn't dazed and confused on the field after? Is that what the rule is supposed to be? Helmet to helmet bad only if it causes a concussion?

Ridiculous.

No real hard there, but like the guy who hit Rodgers, he actually lowered his helmet with intent, so I think it should have been called for that reason, whether contact was made or not.

Just no excuse for that and I couldn't believe Troy said what he said. Don't know what he was looking act. the replay looked just as bad.

I think this situation has to do with the acting job of Cousins versus Dak. Cousins got up pointing at his head, whereas Dak got up like nothing happened. It occurred to me that maybe (just maybe) the official was waiting for an indication that never came and let it go.

That doesn't make it right, but a good acting job, I think, goes a long way in inviting the flag to be thrown.

It was just so blatant he led with his head and struck the QB directly. These discrepancies are starting to ruin the game for me. As a fan, I just want it to be fair and consistent. Win or lose - but to not call something so obvious and so clearly wrong just makes it all seem so manipulated.

I agree concerning Tony. I think he does best he can not to sound partial.

I just don't think he's really even a personal "fan" of Dallas.

He was born in Cali, he probably grew up a Niners fan.

If he's trying to sound impartial, he has to cut that out. I don't think I've ever seen a flag or a no-call against Dallas that Troy didn't like, it makes him sound kinda dumb.

The Dak play should have been a penalty for spearing ("leading with the top/crown of the helmet"), and the helmet-to-helmet part doesn't matter. A quarterback loses helmet-to-helmet protection when he becomes a runner.

In college ball they probably would have reviewed it. But then again according to Aikman it was a good no call.

No contact, no call, intent or not. Was it "spearing"? Maybe, but that's pretty far down the list of rules the refs are looking to call.

I totally forgot about this no-call, man the refs were terrible yesterday. Led with the helmet, contacted Dak's helmet, and did it after he started his slide. I don't know how that didn't get called. A Cowboys defender gets called for that every time.

Dak suffers from Cam Newton Disease ...... they are so big and strong the refs never call roughing

Cam never got calls until he made a big deal about it

I am starting to not know what is legal and what is not legal in football anymore. The refs are all over the place when calling penalties. It really needs to be cleaned up. More consistent. And, YES, the players and coaches, owners should be able to complain about the refs and bogus calls in PC's, or interviews..
