I totally forgot about this no-call, man the refs were terrible yesterday. Led with the helmet, contacted Dak's helmet, and did it after he started his slide. I don't know how that didn't get called. A Cowboys defender gets called for that every time.
Did you see the Joe Flacco
Helmet removal hit? Even his four snap chin strap separated and went flying.

There's no question this was a helmet to helmet hit where the defender led with the crown.

Since it happened with multiple officials watching the play, the mystery is why it wasn't CALLED.

Now seen from the back angle it MIGHT have looked like 'incidental contact'. Only when you see if from the front can you tell how bad the spearing was.

It was long after the slide.

No real hard there, but like the guy who hit Rodgers, he actually lowered his helmet with intent, so I think it should have been called for that reason, whether contact was made or not.
I’m asking and don’t know.

Is that part of the rule? The intent of doing something is a foul even if the foul doesn’t occur?

LOL at anybody still arguing that that wasn't a penalty - substitute Brady or Rodgers and claim that they wouldn't have gotten the call.

Only that one there wasn't contact.

The issue is not helmet to helmet, not with the GB play anyway. The player ducked his head and led with the crown of the helmet, what we used to call spearing. That was the penalty. Now with Dak, it was both, spearing and helmet to helmet but since Dak was out of the pocket, not sure helmet to helmet is still in play but leading with the crown of the helmet is always in play and should have been called. The fact that the QB is out of the pocket and running and sliding and the ref's didn't call a blatant foul, is proof that they were lopsided against the boys... no way was it it missed, every official should be watching the QB on that type of play. I will be interested to see if the defender gets fined this week for that hit. My guess is he will.
