Henry vs A Glenn

Am I the only one who sees how bad Henry is? I mean there is a reason teams pick on Henry. Perfect example of this debate is in covering Burress. When Henry is on him he gets catches. When Glenn is on him he doesn't.

Henry had some good plays don't get me wrong but this zone we are running does not suit Henry's talents and he looks bad in it.

We are a much better team with Glenn in there because of his speed. I counted 4 times that Henry gave up a 3rd down conversion and I know there was more.

I might be sensitive to his play but it happens every week.

I am a little confused. I think most of the completions that were on Henry occurred while Dallas was in man coverage. So how does Dallas' use of zone not fit his skills?

Henry is not playing bad, he was in position on the TD, Buress just made a very good play. And the P.I. call was BS. But Henry also made a very good play in the forth quarter knocking a ball away when the Giants was in the red zone. I think people forget how life was around Dallas before Henry was signed.

*Sigh* If some one throws at you 30 times a game as they do Henry the law of averages permits a couple of completions, when you play opposite of Terence Newman you receive more attention. The touchdown Henry gave up today was simply excellent execution. That is the thing about an offense that gets it right, you can match them with the perfect defense and call the perfect coverage, have it played to perfection as practiced and still get beat despite all the right moves.

This is the case in most of the instances of Henry being beaten, he's also dropped picks, but he also breaks up TD passes ala Shockey Sunday and Galloway on Thanksgiving. He is a good cover corner and a sure tackler. Next question.

This is more than a couple.

Man, you guys need to look at some of the terrible corners on other teams that get ate up every weekend and count you lucky stars that you have three solid corners on this team. All corners get beat sometimes and all have an occasional Pass Interferance call on them. Henry is a better than average corner in this league. I would spend the money on him all over again. Deja vu! Rememeber when all of us were crying for better secondary help before he got here? It was really bad! I have not forgotten and do not want to revisit that nightmare!

Thats settling for something when you can do better. Glenn could fill in for Henry and make this team better.

Evidently so Henry is not a bad player and this is getting old. I like Glenn as well and he fits the role Dallas has him in. I wish people would just let Parcells play the guys he has the way he has without this constant complaining.

Henry had good coverage on that TD, Plexaglass just made a great catch. Henry is a good CB, and Glenn is probably the best 3rd CB in the league. Henry made a great save in the TB game against one of the fastest wr's in the NFL.

Henry just gets more balls his way since Newman removes their RWR from the game.

If Henry gets twice the passes his way, he's going to give some up. Newman gives up more per pass on average than Henry too.

Newman is an absolute stud, so teams just will throw on Henry. Henry isn't Newman but a lot of people think he should be.

This has been said a lot but I hardly think it is an excuse for poor play. Thats like saying Davis is gonna mess up because he plays with Roy.

I'm sure if Parcells felt the same way he would make that move and the simple fact is Henry is the starter because Parcells feels he is the best man for the job.

Wow, just wow.

If you'd like to mentione defenders that aren't playing well, Henry's way down the list. He's having a much better season this year than last

How about you concentrate on the defenders who are struggling like the FS or James.

Henry is struggling and I agree with Davis. James had a rough game but his mistakes are not chronic andweek to week.

Geez, Henry has his bad games from time to time, but yesterday wasn't one of them. That TD to Plaxico couldn't have been covered much better... Sometimes you just have to give the other team credit for a great throw and catch.

Like Stanley said, Bradie was the one who whiffed badly on Manning on the Shockey TD and dropped an easy interception that would've been a huge play.

He made some mistakes in man coverage but I think he made more in zone. The big thing is count the 3rd down convertions they got against you know who. In the zone Henry is slow and usually late. He is better but average man to man. Guy's get seperation on him all the time.

The reason I created this thread is because you don't see Glenn getting beat in the same ways. It's like the kicking situation and having confidence in someone. When Henry gets on someone fast I am nervous but when Glenn is on someone I know he will make a play.

Glenn absolutly owns Burress.

It is the same situation as Barber and Julius. I kept making excuses for Julius but there is no question Barber is playing better.

I thought he turned around late and had no idea where the ball was. That save was total luck because of a bad throw. Had the QB thrown a good ball it was a TD.

I trust Parcells.

Think about the speed WR's the top teams have and if we make it into the playoffs. Can you imagine Henry covering them? Teams mismatch on Henry for a reason.

It's the 3rd down conversions he is giving up that gets to me. Our defense could not make a 3rd down stand if their life depended on it.

Like someone else mentioned the angles our safeties were taking was bad.

I think Henry does a good job for the Cowboys and I don't think he is a bad CB and I have seen him hold his own aginst very good WR in this league. Henry is not perfect but he does his job. I see no signes at all that Henry is going to get replaced by Glenn. I think Glenn fits the role Bill has for him and I think things will stay as is

Fair enough but I have a feeling he will cost us in a big way.

And Henry has made big ints since he has been part of this team he has also come up to make some big stops for this team. Yes he has given up some passes and I don't think he is as good as Newman is but I think Henry does a good job for this team and I would not change anything at this stage.

Henry's not struggling. Every CB in the league gives up some catches but right now Dallas is shutting down WRs with their corners better than any team in football.

Henry's playing like an above average corner this season. That's terrific when you consider he's Dallas' #2 corner. He's probably the best complimentary corner in the NFL right now.

Glenn has been playing fabulous though, probably even better than Henry, but you have to remember that Glenn's playing significantly fewer snaps. That suits him though. He's not a spring chicken and I'd rather get 25 great downs from him a game than watch him break down from the constant pounding of an everydown player.

If they had any production from the FS spot, Dallas would have far and away the best secondary in the NFL but even now they're in the top three.

Also, this wasn't just one bad game for James, it's become a trend. He's really becoming the weak link among the linebackers. Ayodele is outplaying him on every down now.
