Henson - Parcells - and our future

Henson had no choice in the matter.

You must not have been copied in the memo from JJ...Henson asked JJ to go to NFLE to get sone playing time. He asked, was not told. Maybe you were washing Bledsoe's car that day ?

Henson is in survival mode.....anybody who can't see this needs to adjust the rose colored glasses.

Maybe you need to just get some glass's ? Henson is not surviving, he is prospering in NFLE. He is UNDEFEATED in NFLE and the most talked about player there.

Sorry that bothers you soooo much.

Looks like Bledsoe may be best known for being replaced by 2 QB's that played together in College.

Hopefully BP and Bledsoe will be smiling some time in the near future when the Henson is winning us championships. Henson, being the classy guy he is will be giving them credit for helping him in his career.

Since your Bledsoes number 1 fan, I should be thanking you too.

He's the most talked about player there because he's the only real 'name' player over there, which should tell you all you need to know about the level of competition.

Also the Rhein Fire have been a pretty solid organization for that league based on what I know, they have a good defense and what not.

The NFLE is not....I repeat NOT the NFC East...you'll understand this hopefully this summer when Henson is waived after another hideous preseason campaign against NFL 3RD STRINGERS that are much better than the talent over in europe. ;)

Cowboys starter.

sorry I will talk slower next time

Quincy Carter went 10-6 and made the playoffs in 2003.....that was better than Bledsoe as well.....he sure went on to great things in this league. :laugh1:

Sad when your only comeback is posting that QC had a better year than BLEDSOE. Real Sad

Woo freakin hoo.....so henson is 1-0 as a starting QB in dallas, so why was Vinnie Testeverde of all QB's stating over him in 2004? Why was another 'retread' signed to replace Testeverde in 2005?

Henson is a bust....you do realize the Texan's drafted him to be a back up to another bust (david carr) and he couldn't even cut it there? Then we let them rob us for a 3rd rounder to get him?

Wake up!

You're completely out of your element: knowledge. And completely display your element: ignorance. The Texans drafted him with the intention of trading him. The fact is, none of the GMs in the league wanted to risk a draftpick on a player who wasn't entirely committed to football at the time, except for the Texans. And Casserly said they drafted Henson with the intention of trading him, not to be a backup to anyone. Please, learn something before you try to portray that you have the knowledge.

Really, did Henson even play in Houston ? Dude, you are losing it. Henson was drafted as trade bait.

Worked well to. They used a 6th and got a 3rd. Great move by them...

We got a 1st round QB for a 3rd...Great move by us.

Win Win really.

And about the bet ?

What is your answer ?

i've been a cowboys fan goin' on 44yrs
loud and proud
it's been along time since we had someone
with this much talent under center for our Boys
I for one don't trust Parcells one bit with developing
him. BP doesn't want stars and DH has got that written
all over him. JMO :p:

Funny thing is I agree with you about Henson ......

But if you cant see that Parcells is honestly trying to rebuild the Cowboys as a yearly contender ..... we are gonna disagree.

We have a Good present QB (Bledsoe)...... A guy who has the potential to be a great QB (Henson) A great Headcoach ..... A great young Defense ..... prolly the Best Wide reciever tandom in the league (talent wise) ..... and one of the best Tightends in the league.

ZK, you think BP will caoch here after this year ?

If we do well in the playoffs ..... yes
If we dont make it or get embarressed in the first round .....no

But i think he will stick around as an adviser to football relations or some made up title like that .............

I see 2 things we disagree on
1: BP is not calling the shots. It's Jerry AND BP
big difference (IMO)
2: I don't put BP in the upper echelon of coaching.
He does know football, But , I don't like his style of
play, his in game decisions,or his ego , just to name
a few

the pullin' head out the butt was uncalled for on my part ;)

Yup ..... sorry I got a little testy also .........

hope we are cool ......

all's cool..... i wish the draft would hurry up and get here...
so we can talk about something other than QBs (i don't think we will take one):star:

go read the articles for yourself , Henson went to Jerry

that's how and why he's in nfle. Bill prove he ain't worth a crap

when he is calling the shots ,thats why he ain't calling all the shots here.

Thank you for puttin this up Hogwild.

zrinkill we both agree about Henson. I think that he can be a great QB. He has everything it takes to be great. You probaly agree on that to.

But we just do not agree on Parcells or Zimmer. IMO I think Parcells has done a horrible job with Henson and held him back....not made him better. I just agree with Hogwild more when it comes to Parcells.

Still havent seen the article thats says Jerry Jones sent Henson to NFLE without Bills permission.

After watching Henson in NFLE I am more convinced than ever that the Cowboys have mishandled him. You can see him getting better week after week which confirms the thinking that all he needed was CONFIDENCE and EXPERIENCE.

I see mobility, a big arm, good decision making and leadership. What more would you want in a young QB?

Which gets to my question.

I am concerned when I read in another thread, one that recaps an interview with Mickey Spagnola, that "Parcells still likes Romo and if Henson comes back he will come back as the #3 with the chance of competing for #2".

I have been saying it since Parcells first arrived, he is stubborn to a fault, is petty in some areas, is an absolute control freak, and if we are all being honest with ourselves, hasn't proven a thing in Dallas so far except that he has upgraded the overall talent of the team. (While still not fixing some areas, i.e., the offensive line)

The question, then, is this. If Parcells has his way with the QB situation will Henson ever get a fair shot with him? Or, if you don't like it worded that way. Is Bill Parcells the coach to develop Drew Henson?

If the answer is no, then does Jerry Jones allow Henson to be a scrap heap project while Parcells goes about his business?

I would be interested to hear your perspectives on this.

Wait a minute... I don't agree with your perspective but then again I still trust in Bill and futher more I am not am not malcontented.

I fail to see why you have to stir the pot, Henson is doing well right now that is good enough. The best interest of the Dallas Cowboys are in good hands, just let Bill cook the dinner, we will soon feast.

You know i like Bledsoe. All digns pointed to him tutoring Brady and being behind him 100% in NE. Bledsoe is a team player who repects his coach and his teammates.

I really wish that some fans here would take notes on that.

Bledsoe and Henson and Romo and Parcells can all coexist and prosper on the same squad.

This is not a zero sum situation: one doing well does not mean that another is doing poorly.

Its disgusting how coaching envy and people thinkking that you can only support one Cowboys QB polarizes us fans. Im not buying it.

I like Bledsoe, Henson, Romo and Parcells and I believe that each and every one of them can be very successful.
