Henson's made me a Fire fan

Well this guy claims about 9 out of 10 passes to the back of the end zone thrown across a QB's body end up as INT.'s I remember 1 in particular that brings back a lot of heartache. You may remember it as "The Catch". And before anyone starts, I am in no way saying Henson is the next Montana. I am saying that these type of improv throws are made all the time in the NFL. And some are legendary, not necessarily dire results.

Yeah, heck, as much of big time supporter I am of Henson, it would be foolish for me to think he will be for sure a good/great QB in NFL. Heck I wont be so sure, unless he plays a full season in NFL, let alone 2-3 games in NFL.

Hey I liked Carter a lot, and it took me 1 1/2 seasons to realize he wont make it. Even then, 2003 he made me pause a bit and start thinking maybe he will make it.

Forget both of them, I thought and still think Bledsoe wont do much here in Dallas. But with signing of TO, eventhough I will be the first one to say, Bledsoe probably wont do it, I have some hopes of strong run in Playoffs if Cowboys make, even though the recent history of Bledsoe is not so good towards end of season. And talk about indecision, I still don't like TO being a cowboys player either :D

Yeh I agree with you and silverbear way to early to tell. I was big on Quincy as well :(

Yeah, Henson's the next Montana. You just lost ALL credibility.:lmao2:

:lmao2: Henson = Elway/Farve? :lmao2: :lmao:

Throwing ONE pass across his body (in 4 games and 86 attempts) is sufficient reason to sneer at him??

What is funny is the TO haters are in full effect but yet he can't get a break for anything and he has actually PERFORMED at the NFL level. I am sorry but you don't see a lot of guys comign from NFLE to the NFL and being starting QB's with lots of success.

Ever heard of Kurt Warner, Jake Delhomme or Jon Kitna?? How 'bout Brad Johnson and Jay Fiedler??

There's five quarterbacks who have gone from NFL Europe to starting in the NFL... got a coupla Super Bowl starters in that mix... so if you're suggesting that it's not possible to go from starting in NFL Europe to success in the NFL, clearly you're wrong...

Your not truly a fan if you don't do X, Y, and Z. Your not a fan if you dont' follow my way of thinking.... Get off if it.

Nope, you're not a fan if you actively root against their players doing well...

When he starts competing for the starting job then I will care.

I'll be sure to let you know when I care about what YOU care about...

He has done it more than once - just sayin...:D

But everytime he does it, the receiver is wide open, and the pass is a perfect strike, with no chance of getting INT'd. No problem with him making those throws,

Say What? Did you read the damn post or not?

I think he wasn't aiming that at you, but I guess he didn't do a better job at aiming to the right person maybe :D

Actually, I think he cares a great deal-- I think he really, really wants Henson to fail over there... why that is, I have no idea... the only thing I could guess is that he hates Jerry with a passion, and wants all of Jerry's gambles to fail... and of course, Henson was one of Jerry's gambles...

Or maybe he's really a Skins or Iggles fan, just pretending to be a Cowboys fan... one thing's for sure, it's a poor excuse for a fan who wouldn't WANT Henson to shine over in NFL Europe, because that would be good for the Cowboys...

Ahh here is the root of the matter. If I don't root for any player that YOU like then I am a eagles fan or a skins far right? Get a clue man. Your "expert opinion means as much as mine. Its all opinion, it has no effect on how things go down. I think it is funny when people accuse others of having an "agenda". For me to have an agenda I would have to be in a position to effect change on the Cowboys organization, and last time I looked I didn't, so no agenda here.

Henson is playing in NFLE. By that fact you have a lot of guys who played in D2 D3 or NAIA schools in there, you have some guys who were starters or Role players at D1 schools. The talent level is no where near the NFL level and I am sure they are not getting into as complex defenses and offenses that the NFL has. Also if throwing across your body to the back if the endzone is such a good play, then why do coaches ALWAYS coach their QBs NOT to do it?

So silverbear please tell me what is your expert opinion on Vince young, Jay Cutler and Matt Leinhart?

Sorry I don't fit your theores I think JJ is a great owner, but just because he is a greatr owner doesn't mean I have to like EVERYTHING he does.

It was a joke.

Not enough smilies, perhaps?

It was meant to be a mockery of the idiotic assertion the other poster made about the Elway / Favre comment, automatically assuming Henson was being compared to legends.

Sometimes, people are real :jerk:'s....

Well obviously you already have since you have decided to reply to me so much. Just using your logic.

Sorry I don't go by the party line, You had better not let me see you criticize one player in a Cowboy uniform.

Actually, I threw that out as a POSSIBILITY, not as a CERTAINTY... a not unreasonable possibility, given that you seem to want Henson to fail, and that would not be a good thing for the team you profess to love...

Your "expert opinion means as much as mine.

Given that yours is not based in anything FACTUAL, while I have carefully said all along that it's premature to judge him just yet, my opinion is considerably more reasonable than yours is...

In fact, I think you'll find that in general, my football opinions are fairly well respected around here; clearly, yours are not...

So silverbear please tell me what is your expert opinion on Vince young, Jay Cutler and Matt Leinhart?

Sorry, I don't care to discuss football with you, because you have rather a lousy attitude... if you're really interested in my take on things draft-related, there are two rather lengthy posts I've made on the subject, you can find them over on the draft board...

Funny you should mention this and people losing ALL credibility.

Damn you dudes. You are like wife and husband, never able to understand each other or what the heck the other person says. It reminds me of the famous Quote "What we have here is failure to communicate" ( Cool Hand luke)

Gotta admit it's nice to have football after football. I'm happy with Henson's play...............Got nothing to do with stats either. I want this guy to succeed on my behalf and the Dallas Cowboys. Having that possibility on our roster is a good thing, no matter how you feel about Henson. He's a good prospect and that in itself is worth cheering for.

I am sure you have prtty good opnions and most of the time I like what you say, but I happen to disagree with you about Henson. However, today your opinions are built of faulty logic. I think it is funny that you think my attitude is lousy since yours is not much better.

I get the fact you were joking about others saying people were COMPARING Henson to Elway/Favre. I did not understand who you were referring to as jerk0$$'s . And in the end it doesn't matter if you were referring to me or the people you were mocking to begin with, it is a little crude and childish, thus losing credibility. Are we all on the same page now?

Seems that Henson is doing exactly what a player should do - taking what the defense gives him, or making them pay when they don't control him. The talent level in NFLE isn't the same as the NFL we all know that, but he is taking control of a team he didn't know a few weeks ago and he is performing. Can he do it at the NFL level (let's hope so)? Only time will tell. It would be nice to a a mobile (not elusive), good decision maker with a strong arm running our offense (again). Hope he succeeds (soon).
