Jimmy needs to stick to catching wahoo and downing Wild Turkey. He does not have any familiarity with contemporary play in the NFL. He’s certainly not familiar with the mindset of NFL players in the current century. He’s a television personality, there as a straight man to Fox’s barely funny football analysts. Even if he had the temerity to advise Jerry Jones on any subject other than fishing in the Florida Keys, Jerry wouldn’t listen. In fact, Jerry would obstinately do the opposite. Jimmy’s opinion is of no value unless your fishing line is tangled or the ice in your glass has melted.
You couldn't be more incorrect.

He shills for Fox. He is no part of the Cowboys organization in any way, shape, or form. Yet another Jerry Jones smoke screen to appease the angry, but still easily fooled, masses. If fans think “Jimmy’s” fingerprints are on a decision Jerry is less culpable if the result is poor. “Look harder” Simba.

Dakstan nuclear attack is inbound. You better take cover.

There are many quarterbacks in the NFL not named Mahomes, that are overpaidor not playing up to their contracts...... So I guess that makes them "Every Other Quarterbackstans" huh.....

Oh my bad. I forget that you purposely leave out those other highly overpaid quarterbacks because it would kill your agenda of making it look like Dak's the only quarterback in history that gets paid more than he's worth.

Sorry about that. Didn't mean to interrupt the false narrative you're trying to push.

A lot of people think salaries are a Jerry vs Dak thing. Its not. Never was. Its a Dak vs CeeDee thing. Its a CeeDee vs Micah thing. Its a Micah vs Diggs vs Martin thing. The players share the pie. If one guy wants too much, the rules dictate somebody else gets a little less. But its really easy and convenient to blame Jerry.

But when it comes to QB, all the nfl teams have to pay that if they have a franchise type QB. And the amount isn't coming out of thin air, they base it off of percentages of the cap with the new tv deals.
not in all situations, yes close

BUT ,

you not have to set new records....ie like heard some idiots say on the internet 60-70 is coming , you do not need to be the next highest paid record-breaking deal..

the norm was top 5 money, top 3, yes but compromise and common-sense vs Greed from either side is best. IMHO

why not sign for 55 million but say it with a little bit more bonus? why does it have to set precedence, which is bad for capped league IMHO

,but Dwatson no one got that deal next 5 deals none were 100% guaranteed or had that type of guaranteed number, its not set in stone that the next deals had to be ridiculous higher. Tom Brady showed that and don't put a disclaimer on it , he took less and so could other qbs if these chose to do so.

Had the feeling Jimmy has been in Jerry's ear this off-season since they sorta patched things up. I don't wanna hear any BS about how Jimmy didn't win with the wheel chair version of Dan Marino. Jimmy knows exactly what he is looking at.
100% right. Jimmy knows football and he really knows what it takes to win. Guy is a genius at that.

Great stuff. Coach Jimmy is right. The NFL and owners have an ever record yearly increasing QB salary problem that is way out of control and affecting teams with their caps and ability to keep better weapons together. The WRs are starting to get out of hand as well.
It is CAPflation. The myth is "the salary CAP will go up to X million dollars next year so we'll have room to sign our players. False. As the CAP increases so do players salaries and any increase will be taken up by that increase in salaries. Right now it might be that salaries are increasing faster than CAPflation for some positions, including QB and WR.

Is waiting for the tea leaves and the market going up Jerry's fault?

Does not having an adequate back up or potential replacement in place put you in good to position of strength negotiate?
