Herd w/Colin Cowherd at TheHerd : Is Dallas winning despite Dak Prescott?

For those who don't understand the game of football. We are winning because Dak is an above average QB, our offensive line has been above average, our receiving/RB corps as a whole have been above average and our defense has been above average too. I think we are in the top 15 of just about every offensive and defensive category.

Parcells said after Thanksgiving "you are what your record says you are." We are an above average team. If we cut down on our stupid penalties, dropped passes, wrong routes and interceptions, plus get better at playing the run, we have a very good chance of doing something in the playoffs. None of the teams in the AFC scare me. Only Philthy is better than us, maybe the 49ers too. I like our chances against ANYONE.

The bottom line is we are winning and losing as a team, not just because of Dak. Again, winning sure does have a way of bringing out the non-Cowboys fans around here.

I'm not a DAK hater at all. I watched him all through college down here at Moo U. It was never his passing that got him over the top in college, it was his running. He was an "adequate" passer in an NCAA game where everyone's open and no one can play pass defense. His arm strength is top notch and at times can look like the second coming but, his inconsistency drives me crazy. And, I mean it's not like he fluctuates a little. He either drives down the field and looks like a HOF'er doing it or .. he stinks it up BADLY .. and I do mean badly. It has always plagued him and, while he got way with in college, it's not so easy in the NFL where "EVERYONE can play. There's times when you can actually see his brain working to pick up defenses and blitzes resulting in slow as Christmas reaction times and errantly thrown balls. He also seems at times to audible out of plays when he'd be better off leaving it alone.

I don't know. Like I said, I like the guy (with exception of the greed factor that hurts the team around him), and I don't know of anyone who'd do significantly better at this juncture. But I DO KNOW that consistency is the hallmark of a professional athlete.

I agree. he is inconsistent and that needs to improve. that's what's holding him back from being elite.

and I don't buy into the greed factor. he negotiated a contract through his agent. how many players outside of Brady take one for the team and leave money on the table. but seemingly we all complain about Dak....

and it didn't happen with rush? rush and the offense scored 13 points against the rams. the defense scored 6, came up with another fumble recovery inside the redzone that gave dallas another 3 points...

our defense had 6 turnovers in the first 4 games Rush played, against Philly they got none and we got spanked giving away 2 early and could never recover.

and if you are given a short field....what are you supposed to do? not score.......

There have been several in the past who've restructured or differed in order to sign critical players .. Aikman for one.
