The pants are most definitely green. Even the equipment managers have acknowledged it. Though this never happened (the pants got even greener with the switch to Nike), they are obviously green: http://www.dallasobserver.com/blogs/dallas-cowboys-changing-uniforms-7098065

When people post pics of the Staubach era, the numbers appear to be navy and the pants almost perfectly appear to match the helmet on the white uniforms. Schramm's intent was for the uniforms to appear navy and silver because of how much TV and sunlight would alter the colors. Navy looked black back then. Now, as many teams and our current color rush jerseys show, navy looks navy blue and also looks great. I don't mind the royal blue as much as I do the green pants. They can still be silver blue if Jerry is dead set on them not matching the helmet but get the green out.

While the uniform may be "classic" just because that's how it's been, changing the sheen of the pants would not be that big of a deal. In fact, there were a few years back when Romo and TO played and Reebok outfitted the team that they did take the green out and it looked sooo much better.

i love the silver pants that show up on TV....Cowboys have been my hero since 1970....i have watched many games and all playoffs and superbowls....ups and downs
it dont matter...the only time i was not happy is the early 2000's when we did not have a QB...but for the most part Dallas has always had a franchise QB that kicks butt
How many other teams can say that?

Jethro placing revenue ahead of tradition once again.

Who needs the jinx of the blue jerseys when he's our biggest jinx.

A progressive type wants things to progress.

And therein lies the implicit bias of your use of the word. "Change" and "progress" are two different words and have two different meanings. I get upset about people conflating the meanings of words, especially when they are used to demean other people.

You've implied that people who don't want to change the pants are "super old" and "conservative" while people who advocate changing them are "younger", "forward-thinking" and "progressive". You're attempting to lump together and demean people who don't agree with your point of view by characterizing them words that have negative connotations, while characterizing your point of view with terms that have positive connotations. So whose "reality" are we talking about here?

Personally, I don't care for the pants; but I'm not going to group people with another point of view together and demean them because of it. That's my "reality".

Not a discussion I'm all that interested in, but just for the record, I'm with those who noticed the contrast and thought it odd. But then I thought it might be my own eyes, or my TV, or the lighting in the stadium. I'm also all for somehow, if it's possible, making sure silver pants always can show up as silver.

Not sure if this is the "Reebok" uni. But they look about the same.

Here it looks a little more toned down.

Who knows.

McCord did say that photos sometimes play tricks with the actual color, that and lighting. So there's that.

I'm pretty sure they aren't the only team to wear white at home any more. They may be more consistent with it, since they do it every game except Thanksgiving. Don't the Deadskins also mostly wear white at home?

Yeah, that struck me as odd as well. I thought they all wore white at home but maybe that is because teams always wanted to make the Cowboys wear blue when they could because of that blue curse we always heard about.

You think the terms are demeaning, not me. Being conservative is not negative or positive...it just is. Change is not negative or positive...it just is. Some people like keeping things the way they are, some don't. I make no judgements. You are the one ascribing negative connotations to my words.

Not trying to fight at all...I was just amused by the thread and the different points of view.
