Here Are the Final Two Issues

The owners will not start things up if the players will not recertify. That would mean endless court fights. So the players talking about not recertifying means that they want to go to court.

From what I understand the players want the opt out because the floor will be lowered from 89% later in the deal. Basically it gives them the right to bail if teams are playing it cheap and paying the minimum allowed salaries per team. This has been a sticking point not only weith the NFLPA but the owners as well with some teams last year were well below the previous years floor. IE they're pocketing the extra cap money and keeping from the players AND keeping revenue shared money, or so I hear. All of this leading to the new number of floor changes.

I dont want the opt out because that just puts us in another lock out in 7 years. Thats how we got into this mess in the first place. Make a deal you can agree on and stick toit. No parachutes no opt outs.

The only floor there was last year was the minimum salary x 53 players. Achieving a 90% floor was a win for the players, and for some of the owners. (the cheap owners hate it, but it should help competitive balance.)

Well, if we look at what happened in this last go round, players and owners both started readying themselves for this two years before it got here. The basically started doing business differently. What we need is stability in the league. If you pass a 7 year deal, what that really means is maybe 4 seasons of regular football. This season is already compromised. You will likely have the last two as well. That really only provides 4 seasons where you have stability. I think the NFL needs stability in order to get the product back to where it has been in the past. I think 10 years is important. IDK
