Here is a list of the last 20 players taken at number 12 overall

No trade down unless you want to increase your chances of drafting a Taco Charlton instead of a Micah Parsons.
This draft is loaded with many good D-linemen, especially within the first 3 rounds. Same goes for RBs. No need to panic and settle when one can trade down a few spots, pick up an extra pick or two, and still get a good D-lineman or RB.

Some of you think this drafting thing is a lot easier than it is. Players that you can get with that first-round pick are much harder to find later in the draft. That doesn't mean it's impossible, but when you have the chance to draft a Tyron Smith, Zack Martin, Micah Parsons, etc., you do it.

Yea, don’t overthink this. If a blue chip stud is there, you draft him.

That is so true. On the other hand, you can trade down and land someone like Fredbeard. It's all a gamble.

If we want to rebuild quickly this is the move we make …. don’t get caught up with the flashy 12th pick. I hope we do this and get multiple
picks.
Problem with that philosophy is that then you’re picking more in the second round.

So you’d end up with a guy in a redshirt year, another going to jail, and another one who doesn’t like football.

The issue is we need so much i just dont see a player like Jeanty fixing everything. Yes our run game will
improve but he is still running behind they online that needs upgrades.

Of course that means you miss out on that potential blue chip player at 12.
I do not see any advantage to passing over a blue-chip player.........especially with as many needs as we have. In other words, there's only one position we can truly say we don't have a need and that's QB ( sure many will disagree but his contract ).

If this team was serious.

They would have started Lance when Dak went down instead of trying to limp into the playoffs.

Gotten a top ten or top 5 pick. Then traded THAT PICK to stay in the top of the round and get more picks later in the draft.

Thats what a normal FO would do. Our FO however cares more about viewership, ticket sales, and tv revenue than actually running like a competent FO.

This is real .......or Mazi Smith instead of Fletcher Cox. I would consider trading down a couple of spots if I knew I could still get my targeted blue chip ( they did it with Parsons ) but 10 spots? That's a no for me.......

I agree as long we stay within range of players with true 1st round grades.....as mentioned above, you don't walk from a Parsons to risk drafting a Taco or Mazi Smith.

Nope. Winning games when you have a ZERO percent chance at a SB was gross negligence on this FO's part.

The Cowboys should get an impact player at #12. But do they give you any confidence that they can fill all their holes and significantly improve their team with their other picks and free agency? So what’s the point of getting all excited about pick #12?
well since we are stuck with Dak, we can at least give him a true #2 receiver to throw to and see if that helps the mix. Then , yeah we can get a DT, a LB , RB and maybe a OL ,and keep our corners healthy, we MIGHT have something. it depends on Dak's play though, of course.

Well if our needs remain RB, WR, DE and DT then I suspect we will trade down a bit if they can because right now there are only 10 true 1st round grades in this draft and although the kid from Boise St has a 1st round grade and could fall to 12th, would Jerry really draft a RB in the 1st round.
