With yet another moral victory, the Cowboys will charge headfirst into the imaginary feel-good playoffs for losers.

But yes, Orton did play well. As well as you can expect a guy who hasn't played in 2 years to play.

I dont think orton and romo are that much different when you factor in the contract gimme orton all week and twice on sundays.

Moral victories don't exist, I get it. We lost and it sucks. But we didn't lose for the reasons I expected, meaning the blame needs to go elsewhere.

Orton could have benefited from more practice time with Dez during the week, but Dez was injured. I think the timing on that hot route at the goal line on 3rd and 8, and ball placement on the 2-pt conversion would have been different.

Orton has been given $10m to sit on the bench for 3 years. I expected more. He missed on a lot of throws

He played well but......
Two of throws that were underthrown/behind the receiver{especially the last one}were intercepted and sealed our fate.
No turnovers and we win this game period.

But lets not fool ourselves......no matter who won this game ,the saints are going to send them packing next week.

Rough interception to end the game that hurts like hell, but he played as well as I could have hoped. That and the defense kept it closer than I ever would have imagined.
I can't dog out Orton because the guy has been on the bench for 2 years, and then thrown in to a win or go home situation. He played great. Now if he had been doing this for years, I'd rip a hole in him.

My hats off to this guy. He comes in there after not starting since 2011 and throws for 358 yards and 2 td's. Sure he choked at the end but I thought he played very honorably for most of the game. He got the defense to jump offsides 3 times, never hiked the ball with no time on the clock, made some great throws, and played with confidence the whole time.

I think many people out there thought we would get beat badly but that wasn't the case and Kyle was a big reason for that. Was a very enjoyable game to watch.

Orton is less accurate, less mobile, more turnover proned, never had a QB rating over 90 in his career, and lost his job to Tim Tebow.

He played as well as a back up could've played, but this game is on coaching.

I honestly think we would've won it with better play calling, how in the hell is your back up QB going to throw it 46 times in a close ball game? On multiple 3rd and short downs, you're going to run it? And on a crucial 4th and 1, you're going to run it? Just down right silly play calling, it's like Garret gets his playbook from a Madden guru.

And for those previously calling out Romo for constantly audibling into pass plays, well now you have your answer, it's NOT Romo.

Orton is a waste of money that could be going to a more critical area. He played OK but didn't get the job done. He's a failure.

Nope... If romo gets blasted, so does he for being the highest paid backup. One INT, he threw it behind Witten. The other, he threw it behind Miles.

Ummm....if that was Romo I GUARANTEE you and the rest of the Romo lovers would have blamed the first pick on Witten and the second on a poor route by Austin.

Hats off to Orton...damn shame he didn't have a coaching staff to help him tonight...

Feel terrible for Kyle, he mostly played fantastic and showed great poise. In a strange way, Kyle took that one for the team because the offseason would have been unbearable for the franchise had Tony thrown it. Instead, it will be forgotten soon enough (as it should).

Defense played great the second half. Considering that I don't even know who Wynn, Brown, Irvin, etc. are, we did enough to win.

Ultimately, we made more bad plays than they did. That was the difference.

I'm just pointing out double standards. Orton played great, but he also had a clean pocket all day. He also threw 46 times and nobody is saying he was checking out of run plays.

He had a clean pocket partly mainly because he got rid of the ball so fast.

But certain posters told me Orton was better than Romo and it was not even close...................................HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

I don't know of anyone saying he was better, just that Kyle was more than capable of filling in.

First pick was on Witten, second on Orton. There is no way to dispute this.
