Maybe he can be our Playoff "secret weapon" ;)

He may not be able to take the NFL pounding, but he might still have the wheels.
Some of these older guys have taken care of themselves. Willie Gault, ex Bears WR, was still competing in track events into his 40's and 50's. At age 50 he ran a 10.88 100m, that's pretty dang fast.

Herschel would wake up @ ~ 4AM to do 5000 situps and 5000 pushups before training with the team. He kept that ritual going into the 1990's when he returned to the Cowboys.

I don't think you got your facts quite straight. It was 500,000 push ups, and 2.5 million sit-ups. In fairness I must add that he often didn't finish that until his second breakfast.

I stand corrected. I dont normally debate others replies here, but you have GOT to be kidding me. This supposed routine of '500,000 push ups, and 2.5 million sit-ups' is for one day? HELLO!!!

Yes, my statement of 5000 Situps & Pushups was not correct. That was a number I thought I read from ~ 30 years ago, when Herschel played for the Cowboys. However, there is NO way someone can do 2.5 million situps in one day. That is not even a realistic number.

So, I Googled Herschel Walkers Workout Routine and found a video where he states his workout routine:

Enjoy!

Sorry to be droning on this, but if you watch & listen to that full video........... at 2:50 Herschel states

"When I was a little boy I started doing 5000 pushups, 5000 situps every day...'

So, I was NOT wrong in my previous statement.

I know Walker has been dealing with DID so who knows what's going through his head. Maybe he sees the Cowboys RB situation and knows how Jerry is always looking to make a splash with some move. I'm sure Walker would love to get a crack behind the Cowboys OL. He wouldn't have retired 18 years ago if he thought he could still play. His last 3 seasons in the NFL he only received 47 carries. He only had two 1000 yard seasons in his 13 year NFL career. Walker was a very powerful, explosive, fast back but he was a north/south runner who couldn't make defenders miss.

He wasn't a slasher and his inability to make cuts and elude defenders turned Jimmy Johnson off. Walker would get pounded in todays game trying to run over defenders that are bigger and faster than during his era. I remember Jim Brown wanting to make a comeback at 47. He claimed he could out run an aging Franco Harris whose wheels were coming of. This prompted a challenge by Brown to race Franco which resulted in Franco blowing away Brown in a 40 yard dash.

10 sets of 60 is 600 pushups 2X a day is 1200 and that's not that hard. 10 sets of 75 sit ups 2X a day is 1500 which is not difficult either. At least at age 20 if you work up to it.

Now running a sub 10 100 is something you can't really 'work' up to.

I heard a snippet of an interview he recently did with Sirius/XM NFL radio and he confirmed that he's never lifted weights, but always worked with body weight exercises.

He's an athletic marvel and when it comes to that arena, I would never bet against him.

Years ago while Walker was still playing he was on Oprah. They also had Rachel Mclish who was a female bodybuilder. Hershel took off his shirt and was RIPPED. He claimed he ate burgers, candy/junk food and never touched weights. His routine consisted of a lot of pushups and sit ups. Mclish wasn't buying it and it led to a pretty heated debate. Walker told her she could ask his teammates. It would be hard to bet against Walker in a lot of thongs but at 53 and not having played football in 18 years I would bet against him here.
