Well Tim Sylvia did try and represent MMA and got KNocked out in the first 30 seconds of round one ray mercer.

But He's an excuses of a MMA fighter and proves nothing.

But on the same token Mercer got whooped by Kimbo Slice. And Kimbo is a older fighter with alot to learn about MMA.

Tim Sylvia really needs to go away. He's actually someone to point to and say "look the sport is evolving", however. A few years ago he was on top of the UFC when they had nothing at HW, now pretty much every HW contender would utterly destroy him. And it's not because he got big and uncordinated, he was already that, but because there are now some crazy good athletes like Cain Velaquez, Brock Lesnar and Shane Carwin in the division.

Big Tim just made a career out of being big and having long reach.

The Mercer fight doesn't prove anything. Tim was out boxed and beat down by a 40 year old Randy Couture. Nothing new with Mercer doing the same thing.

Mercer still has great hands and power at his age though.
