Love me some Herschel. I'll even forgive him for not naming the Cowboys as the team tops on his list. Loved his 2nd tour of duty in Dallas.
I am always on board with older athlete comebacks. Bring it Herschel.
For those worried about how long he'd last I actually doubt he'd be seeing much action. Its not like anyone would hand him the ball 20 times a game. No one was doing that his last few years in the league.
Odds are it would end ugly. I have no doubt he feels he's in better shape but "being in shape" is a very generic non-scientific reference. Usually means, I'm lean, I'm strong & I'm fast. I have no doubt all those measureables could be better for him now than before. I believe there are many dedicated older athletes that can back that up as well. But there is more to athletic success than that. Yes, taking a hit, physical recovery etc. I doubt Herschel is as quick or has the same burst. I remember Dorsett late in his cvareer claiming his 40 time was as strong as ever. It did NOT translate to production on the field. Jerry Rice makes those same claims as well. Sometimes when you're done it doesn't show up in a 40 time or bench press etc.
Pretty sure Herschel would be nowhere near what he was when young. But it'd be fun anyway.
