Hey Eli, is the sun in your eyes?

It gives the game an epic look on TV. I was at that Falcons game in 2009 and it looked great in person. I like the sun.

I read something a long time ago, why it's angled like it is. But can't recall it.
I think it had something to do with how they had to angle the stadium for maximum usage of the land. As well as other circumstances.
It is not a design flaw.

They will adjust. It gets more manageable each week as we edge more into fall towards winter. I thought the rule was that the shades can't be used for football games anyway.

They can be used but can only be open and closed before kickoff and during halftime but the NFL has to be notified for the openings and closings.

As well as letting in some natural sunlight.
Maybe it was to allow the Cowboys a western theme of riding off into the sunset, after a gun battle, which they won...

That was part of it but also the money making LEED requirement that all new buildings have to meet. There is a natural light threshold you have to meet to even get the lowest LEED certification for your building.

The fool who engineered that crap stadium should be shot.
..

Why so mad at the engineers? They only take what the architects and designers give them and make it work.

It is hardly a crap stadium. If it was then it wouldn't have hosted a Superbowl, a NCAA Final Four and soon the inaugural college football playoff championship game.

For the record, Cowboys don't have shades on the windows. You can't roll them up like you do at home. lol They have tinted end zone doors that they have to decide to open or keep close before the game. Today they decided to open them up.

It was a mistake by the Giants, right as we were driving at the end of the third quarter you could see the sun starting to stare us in the face and then the quarter ended it was at our backs the rest of the game.

Uh....just seems like they could have rotated the stadium and/or put the blinds down. I've been on the field in the late afternoon and it's darned-near impossible to see. To me, it takes something away from the game.

As for the interior of the stadium. Too big. Feels like you're in an air-conditioned library more than you are at a football stadium. Plus, the food options are horrible. I prefer the disgustingness of Texas Stadium. :)

Good win though. Feels like we would have lost that game last year.

Still not the engineers fault. :D

:lmao:

Seriously, the sun affects the Cowboys just as much as the opponent. Who designed that mess? Even the fans couldn't see.

It really is a bit embarrassing.
A legendary design screw-up....2 fold really
1) stadiums are usually built north-south
2) but even then, whoever heard of an indoor stadium be affected by the sun

Craziness and embarrassing. I'd really like to see the architect's explanation.
They really do need a giant curtain, as that light was blinding.

Sun setting is no different than if an open air stadium. Stadium angle was done for a reason, not overlooked.
Feels like a football stadium to me when I'm there, not a library.
Food options better than what was at Texas Stadium.

Go to a game in late August, early September at Texas Stadium, including the walking to the stadium from where you parked. Takes you until halftime, if then to stop sweating, which you never really do.
Then at AT&T stadium, now which do you really prefer.
