I find it kinda sad people complain about the sun during a game. Go to Chicago, Buffalo, or any other Northern Stadium during winter. Old time football players shack their heads.
They are going crazy on the Giants boards saying it's illegal, Jerry is cheating...etc.
Never mind them opening the doors behind the goalposts at the Meadowlands for 30 years during field goals.
Cue the pot.
lmao!People that hate the sun must be vampires.
I remember it from the past, but at one point today Romo couldn't see. Fortunately the quarter ended and we faced the other way but that could bite us in the butt at some point. But I'm not complaining about a great win. Just thought it was funny that Eli was squinting.

So we have the sun as our twelfth man. Seattle, your little lime green fans are soo cute.
What direction was old Texas Stadium built? I remember the sun being an issue there too. That's how we got the famous Tom Landry silhouette.
Not when we have the sun at our backs in the 4th quarter. Advantage: Cowboys.
I hope we keep taking advantage of that. Unless we don't get to defend that side, in which case, I'd want for us to pull down the damn drapes.

Call it NE-SW.
The additional suites at the top of the stadium solved any issues with staring directly into the setting sun.

1. They are? I would love to know were you came up with something like that bit of info.It really is a bit embarrassing.
A legendary design screw-up....2 fold really
1) stadiums are usually built north-south
2) but even then, whoever heard of an indoor stadium be affected by the sun.
1. They are? I would love to know were you came up with something like that bit of info.
2. Our last stadium also was considered an indoor stadium, but had sunlight and shadows. Weird, huh?
So, three stadiums eh?
Cool.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Field#Design
Ford Field is one of ten venues in the NFL that has end zones in the east and the west (the others being Qualcomm Stadium, Arrowhead Stadium, AT&T Stadium, Sun Life Stadium, Ralph Wilson Stadium, M&T Bank Stadium, the Georgia Dome, FirstEnergy Stadium and Wembley Stadium).
So according to this 23 of 32 (71%) of NFL home fields run North-South.
So, three stadiums eh?
Cool.
There are few other stadiums in use in the NFL that are not facing pure north-south that were conveniently left out of post #46.
I don't know how it can be a colossal screw up if they did it on purpose. The did rendering on what the stadium would look like in the setting sun. They knew all along which direction the stadium would be facing. The development of the site takes a long time and then the surveying that goes into place to make sure the construction meets the plans. This was no mistake. There was a reason for it all. Maybe not everyone will agree with the reasons, but it didn't all happen by accident.
