Let's face it: the decision to have huge openings at either end of an ENE-WSW oriented stadium was a colossal screw up.

thats your opinion. I think its fine the way it is. if enough people cry over it they could easily block it for certain times that it might be a factor. but then people will just complain about something else like the paint color or something something architecture.

When I mentioned the northern stadiums I was not commenting on the orientation. I was thinking of playing in bitterly cold weather and we are complaining about sunlight shining through one end of the field.

Why do you think it was a screwup?

The difference is that damned glass. You can almost see the sun set through it (which is vastly different from Texas Stadium). I'm fine with the orientation so long as you can't see the sun when it is so low on the horizon. It makes is almost impossible to see as both a player and a spectator.

Close the blinds, Jerry.

Again, I'm not saying this was unforeseen. I just think it's pretty clear that the designers priorities were misplaced.
