Um, the issue is Jerry's candor/trustworthiness. He stated on more than one occasion that the entire coaching staff would return intact. This was followed up by two firings (and counting). Whether the firings were justified is irrelevant. Don't make promises you have no intention of keeping.

The integrity is being questiond, I totally understand. Well Garrett he can do nothing about and he's the whole key to this staff. Stewart is being purged rightfully so anyways and Jerry pulled the trigger because that will be Wades new spot if he sees the light. If not he gets purged as well. Read, we don't even need to go there. Remember, Jerry said change first, then continuity. Both contradict one another. I'm happy we're starting to see structural change. If Wade is DC that's continuity. So we'll get both of what Jerry said and I won't bash him one bit for it if it works out that way.

Sorry the media asking those questions 3 minutes after the season is stupid. Jerry, Stephen etc had not even had the time to talk about the staff.

Parcells lied to media 99.9% of the time. I didnt hear nobody crying about it. Usually they were saying "haha the media is stupid for believing him"

Hahahahaha! It is a very valid point on how we call for heads and have high expectations but this was always a lame duck coaching staff. We believed this staff could lead us to a SB. Only one who could adjust was Wade and it took him 1 1/2 seasons to finally get the DB's to play with 5 yards of the oppositions WR's.

Thank god Im not the only one who thinks this way. It's a gigantic cluster-f and Jerry remains a Bafoon. When Jerry gives the team to Stephen, he will reap more praise than he's ever had because people will notice just how great he is as a business person and owner of the team. Now he is known for the wrong reasons sadly.

Hahahaha! :lmao2:

Except that Jerry reiterated that promise in the days following the Philly loss, when he had more than enough time to think things over and "collect" himself. He lied to us, not just the media.

You have seen an NFL press conference before right bbgun? They all do it. If he told the truth instead "OMG Jerry lies!!!" The threads would be "OMG Jerry needs to shut up and quit giving out our plans!!!!"

Players, coaches and management lie? Tell that to the fans who fell for the TO/Jason/Tony group hug after the Giants game.

You cannot trust Jerry's public statements about personnel decisions. Undeniably correct. It has been so for years.

This is an accepted way of doing business in our culture, of course. CEOs do it all of the time.

But yeah, people would have to be foolish to believe much that Jerry says about personnel decisions. He blows a lot of smoke ....

From what I'm reading tonight, some things have happened since then that blew that plan to hell... which is rather different than Jerry lying to us, it appears that he meant what he said at the time, but circumstances conspired to render the original plan inoperable...

We need to learn a little more about all of this before coming to any kind of conclusion, I think...

I just know that I hate to see Garrett go...

Like what? Stewart and Read didn't get any "worse" since the season ended. Neither was arrested or anything like that. Jerry was intimately aware of their respective strengths and weaknesses, yet promised their return anyway. What changed in the span of two weeks to merit going back on his word? And if "things change," shouldn't competent GM's realize that and not make hasty public promises?

Hey, I'm not saying Jerry has never lied to us, just that he might have meant every word he said about keeping the staff intact, right after the season ended... IOW, he might not be lying THIS time...

As far as I can determine so far, it might have been a major rift that erupted inside the organization that involved the release of Pac Man... which might have been the first in a series of dominos, I honestly don't know...

That's why I'm quite eager to find out more about what's going on right now...

LOL.

Jerry spews nonsense. His mouth works 100x faster than his brain.

No one, i mean NO ONE objective believed Jerry's CONTINUITY spin made any sense whatsoever. Not one word of it. Most were shocked and in total dismay.

His forcefulness at which he presented the issue was a subtle clue he was trying to sell himself on the horrendous idea.

Two weeks later red genius the anointed one is allowed to waltz right out the door with maybe even a little push. LOL.

I read somewhere here (the zone) that the decision to cut Stewart loose happened well before it was made public so as to give Stewart some lead time to secure another job.

I don't know if those reports are true or not, but I thought I'd muddy the waters a bit .... :)
