idk...i was just using that as an example of something other than cutting him.

1fisher said:didn't mean to make it sound like that was the title of the thread..... Just kinda funny that Lloyd has been there 3 1/2 months and all of a sudden he's taking on taking on his coaches personality? I find that surprising and funny at the same time!:

apickmans said:haha ok, but still it was only one persons comment
CooterBrown said:Yes, too late for PUP. But, if they thought highly enough of his ability they would have put him IR. Cheaper just to cut him if you aren't worried about him haunting you when he plays for another team.
And, just because you seem to be one of the reasonable Skins fans around, I invite you to look at the Top 10 Coaches thread on this board. I'm sure you'd be surprised to see that nearly all of us think Gibbs is in the top 10 all time. A worthy foe.
"A man is measured by the strength of his enemies." So is a football team.
1fisher said:actually, two.....
you're not the one that posted that are you?
apickmans said:Well i guess they cut him thinking no other team would pick up an injured player, even though it shoudnt take all that long for him to heal i think. We still have the option of resigning him in the future once he heals up. Heh i would like to think im pretty level headed when it comes to discussing the skins and cowboys, so thanks.
CooterBrown said:Just as everyone else has the option of signing him once he is healed. If he was very good, the skins wouldn't take that chance.
apickmans said:i agree the Commanders are taking a risk by cutting him like that, but they did just sign Jeff Posey who know williams system and can hopefully bring something to the team.
Yeah, don't get me started againstilltheguru said:i also saw a "hes well spoken" comment.:bang2:
CowboysFaninDC said:the foreskins think that gibbs, williams and saunders will make the players drink the burgundy coolaid at the door and these guys will turn average into super. I am not kidding, there are those on their board who have stated williams can take oridinary and make them in to super players.
oh the mind.....
5Stars said:Oh, now this is a good pickup! The guy has had 20.5 sack in 8 years!
This guy is a beast! Is that the Jeff Posey you are talking about? :laugh1:
:dissskin:
AdamJT13 said:Clemons would have had to have been listed as "waived/injured." (It's the same for Kerry Carter, who also was cut after blowing out his knee.)
When a player is waived/injured, he goes through waivers like any other player. But if he's not claimed off waivers, his rights revert back to the waiving team. That team then has five days either to negotiate an injury settlement or put the player on IR.
If Clemons gets claimed off waivers, the Commanders won't have him. If Clemons goes on IR, he can't play this season. And if Clemons gets an injury settlement, the Commanders won't be allowed to re-sign him until six weeks after the length of his settlement. So if he gets even a two-week settlement, which is small, they couldn't re-sign him until after Week 8. Any other team could sign him right away.
In other words, the linebacker some Commanders fans claimed had "shown flashes of greatness" and was "as good as or better than any linebacker in the draft" isn't likely to play for them anytime this season.
apickmans said:first of all, it wasnt a thread about lloyd taking on the personality of gibbs. The thread was started because of quote from lloyd and one poster said
"almost sounds something gibbs would say. Its amazing how players take on the persona of the couch sometimes." Thats it! No thread, just someones comment.
apickmans said:when did i ever say posey was good? I just said hes familiar with william's system, and as complicated as it is, thats a good thing.
