Hip Hop Fans...

I like Blackalicious and Common. I dont really go out in search of new hiphop, but I have a couple cd's by both of those artists and I like them alot.

I listen to a lot of rap

Jay-Z
The Game
Nas
The Diplomats ( a.k.a. Dipset )
Clipse

........... there's more, just don't feel like listing all of them
I also listen to the bolded.

Clipse's "Hell Hath No Fury" was one of the best releases last year.

I actually like Dipset, just not their music, if that makes sense. They seriously need their own reality show.

Jim Jones and Cam = :lmao2:

You can't spell "crap" without "rap"...

haha it's all jokes.

Seriously though, hip-hop artists are not really musicians. It's more of a way way to express yourself. Most hip-hop producers don't really play live instruments, they kind of just tell musicians what to play.

Dr. Dre is an example of a producer who doesn't really play an instrument but, is still well respected in not just Hip-Hop but, the music industry in general.

You should check out the song he did with Burt Bacharach, it's called "Go Ask Shakesphere."

Anyways, I consider myself to have a very versatile taste in music so, hold back my judgment on Bluegrass.

biggaboi.com i got my own rap lable check it out, but chamillion is running the rap scene right now

alot of the producers who make the beats them selfs (i know 36 mafia does this) use the keyboard to create majority of the beats and sometimes they get others to play the instraments, while some can play them their selfs, who remembers Easy-E playing the piano?

id let u go first in a game of roshambow..

there is alot of talent out of the dirty T.I., Outcast (together or seperate), 3 6 mafia (my fav and vote for best), jeezy (gaaa), chamil, lil whyte, lil scrappy, lil jon , lil wayne (another great), luda (even though he was born in chi town) plenty of people.

but to say a guy who has had 1 or 2 smashes say hes the best is a stretch aint it?

I was never a big fan of T.I. but, I like a few of his songs.

I forgot about OutKast, Andre is a very talented rapper but, he needs to stay away from singing. But, ya none of those guys are IMO better than Chamillionaire. He has the whole package, good flow, good delivery, and very catchy hooks.

...Lil Wayne is vastly overrated.

I listen to everything but rap/hip hop and country. But I would be willing to guess that those who do wouldn't like a lot of the stuff that I DO listen to.

Death Metal anyone?

Right here.

I agree. If you like them you will most likely like Lupe Fiasco. He's kind of a mix of all three. Plus the production on his album doesn't put you to sleep!
I heard a ton of hype from both my friends and the press about Lupe's new album, but I just couldnt get into it. I thought it had a definite "Late Registration-***** envy" thing going for it. I really wanted to like it, but Common is the rapper of the people of Chicago. In my opinion, this latest album did nothing to establish Lupe from allready established, more entertaining artists in the scene.

Andre 3000 is serving just about anyone in the south, and even most up north cats. As for Weezy, he gets way to many props off of self hype. He's decent , but until the whole Gillie thing is put to bed, I can't give him credit for being that nice.

Redman just dropped a new joint last week. THE title is red gone wild. RED as usual brings that gutter, east coast jersey funk. I love that cat.

There's still good Hip-Hop out there. Not as good as the 90's but, still quality stuff.

Or you can always listen to the classics. :)

Alternative rap with musical relevance > mainstream, gangster rap.

This man speaks the truth.

Altho, the gangster rap has it's place, and is entertaining sometimes.
