Game Theory by The Roots is solid and from the past year.
The Roots are so underrated. I love them...and Outkast. Outkast been my fav from way back.

Oh and the South didn't ruin hip hop. Hip hop is all about cycles. Every region has their turn at who's the hypest of the moment. But right now, pretty much all the popular songs that are out right now are pretty wack. And it doesn't matter what region it's coming from. I mean, where is Mims from? NY And I don't think anybody can say "This is Why I'm Hot" is truly a hot song.

Throw out the regional bias and take it FWIW. Hip hop needs to do something different. Money, hoes, and clothes can only be talked about so much.

i used to be all into hip hop but the south ruined it

Are you serious?!?!?! Without the south there would be no rap. Chamillionaire runs the show....Lil Wayne, Ludacris, Rich Boy, Young Joc, Petey Pablo, Timbaland (the greatest producer of all time reppin da 757 to the fullest), Trey Songz, Jeezey, Mike Jones, David Banner, the list goes on and on.

Its the northern guys that need help. MIMS' album was just horrible (from New York) and Fat Joe, also from NY, is nothing without Lil Wayne.

anyone actually listen to Lil Wayne or Ludacris? go find some some of his freestyle mixes and you'll be hooked. Dont forget about the Mixtape Messiah Chamillionaire.

but then again if you cant relate to the music then you wont like it...
