This team has no discipline. BB can provide it. If he comes he'll be allowed to do his job or he will leave. He's not of the MM mold where he'll sit there and take it over and over. In fact there may be more limelight than he can tolerate in Dallas.
The more I think about that, the more I like it. He is the anti-Hollywood. I thought Big Mac was a good deflater too with his Pittsburgh lunchpail attitude, but Belichick is the ultimate. No gossip, shut up and do your job!

It would be a completely different atmosphere than the lights that we're used to.

Disclaimer: What I think SHOULD happen is hire a guy who will change the culture, like a Jim Harbaugh, even if it means cutting ties with Dak and being a bottom dweller for a few years.

What I think WILL happen is we hire Bill Belichick and run it back with mostly the same players.

The loss to Green Bay was an embarrassment and Jerry knows it. Nobody trusts Dallas anymore, no matter how good they look. It’ll take years to rebuild trust the right way. But there’s one fast track. Bring in a guy who people trust more than they distrust Dallas.

Belichick doesn’t want another rebuild, and at 72 years old, he knows he only has 2-3 years left. Jerry only has 2-3 years left. Dak has played well enough that he can be trusted another 2-3 years.

Why would Jerry do it? There’s only one thing he loves more than he loves control - ratings. 24/7 headlines of “can Jerry and Bill coexist?” is a gold mine. And Bill is the only guy who will make people take Dallas seriously after the debacle against Green Bay. People taking Dallas seriously equals higher ratings. Jerry will tell Bill anything he wants to hear to get him to come to Dallas.

Why would Bill do it? Bill is the only guy in football with an ego to match Jerry’s. Tom Brady came out the winner in the Brady-Belichick divorce. The same reason LeBron went to the Lakers, winning a title in Dallas has a different effect on one’s legacy. Also, Bill knows he doesn’t have much time left, so he’s more likely to tolerate some of Jerry’s ego than he would’ve been 10 years ago.

Imagine the headlines if Dallas signs Belichick and runs it back with Dak, CeeDee, Parsons. People will forget quick about how things ended in Green Bay.
1. Belly would only come if he was given a ton of control.
2. Belly would bring in players and change this team dramatically.
3. No more playing w/ 6 DB's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

.
What makes you think Harbaugh would want to jettison Dak and tear the entire team down to the ground?

Bringing in BB is a big rebuild. He would for sure change the defense to a 3-4 and we don't have any of the players needed for that.
Sure we do. Mazi/Hankins at the 1, Osa and Lawrence at DE. Micah, and Williams at edge, Clark at one ILB spot, figure out what to do with the other ILB spot in the offseason, or maybe Overshown can do it. Not ideal, and it would take a couple of offseasons to build it to spec, but not a bad starting point.

As much as I respect Belicheck's disciplinary philosophy and defensive background, it's hard to ignore Brady's contributions into making that duo work.

We don't have Brady.

Clark lacks the short area quickness to play ILB. He's strictly an OLB. Not sure he could even play in the 3-4.

Belly would fix the D. That's what we need.

Belly is terrible on O, and would need a competent OC w/ him. McDaniels!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah no coach wants to come in and begin blowing it all up. Not in this league. I think its doubtful any coaches push towards getting rid of Dak. Not having a qb is the best way to get fired quickly. They'll take their chances trying to fix him in the playoffs.

I don't know why we're judging Bellichick without Brady when that New England team doesn't have much talent. Brady jumped to a fairly loaded Tampa Bay team. If Brady went to the Raiders and Bill took the reigns over there in San Fran, you'd see completely different results.

I'd say keep Bill away from the draft board, but let him do his thing as coach. I'd love Harbaugh as well. If Jerry hires some cream-puff, player coach, it might be a great thing to skip watching next season

I feel the DLaw is too small for the DE spot. He would more be of an OLB maybe. Williams, sorry I have to go on a tangent about Williams. He is the microcosm of what has been wrong with the McCarthy Era. How this guy is even still on the team. How can he be allowed to get penalties every single game? It is completely insane. But I digress. Can Overshown play OLB? Clark is too small I feel for the ILB in a 3-4 as well. I think it is a big overhaul that needs to happen.

It’s not, Harbaugh would be the best hire since Jimmy. The guy wins everywhere he goes and instills toughness.
I'm a U-M alum and I wasn't wild about him at first but you can't argue about what just happened up there. We are losing a lot of firepower next year but they work the portal pretty well and the fall off might not be as bad as some suspect. I'd like to keep him in Ann Arbor but I guess if he went to Dallas he's still coaching one of my teams.....

I don't think alot of you know how culture is built. Just keep repeating the phrase. Imagine thinking Harbaugh would do anything with this exact team

Belichick has only won one playoff game without Tom Brady. Jerry hired an old Bill Parcells and it only led to two playoff appearances and no playoff wins. The biggest problem with the team is the way Jerry runs it and the players. Dak has become Romo in the playoffs during his first few seasons. Our best players don’t show up in the playoffs. Despite 36 regular season wins the past three seasons it’s only led to one playoff win. Our regular season success isn’t translating into playoff success.

Does Harbaugh take the job if offered? Guaranteed it would not be a pay cut. Unlimited money to throw at him.

Interesting
I still think Jerry does nothing significant.
Just curious if the fans hold him accountable.
I doubt they will.
They have enabled him for years with their money.

A HC can't win w/o a good QB? No way. So, you're saying Tom Landry sucks? Man, you must really hate Jimmy Johnson. Vince Lombardi? Nope, he had Bart Starr, he sucks too.

Don't forget about the Rooney rule. Jerry cannot just hire Belichick or Harbaugh straight out.
Though a proponent for the Rooney rule..........it's been circumvented for years and filled with loophole interviews. Only the number of Brinks trucks will determine a big hire.

There's been enough of these coaches that want to be friends with the players. Please bring in a coach who wants to win.Parcells came closer to it than anyone since 1992.
