I agree, he will be alright just temporary set back that is all.

He'll never make the same kind of endorsement money he made before folks found out he was a tenth degree horn doggie...

All those endorsements were based not just on him being the greatest golfer in the game today, but on his wholesome, clean-cut image... that image is forever shattered...

I'm not saying he won't get ANY endorsements, just that he won't be the financial juggernaut he once was...

And that is between him and his wife, not you not me or anyone else but him and his wife.

If you don't think he's going to be judged quite harshly in the court of public opinion, you're beyond naive...

Part of Tiger's marketability laid in his appeal beyond golf... for example, my elderly Aunt Shirley, who never watched a golf tournament in her life, took to watching golf on TV when "that nice young man" (her words) was contending...

Those fans are gone forever... he has irrevocably trashed his good name...

He has also spent millions in the Tiger Wood foundations to help underprivileged kids as well as many other charitable ventures which he has not only put the money but the time.

He has, but that doesn't change his financial situation right now... they don't give you big endorsement money because you're a philanthropist... they give you those big bucks because you're a big name that the public LIKES...

Period... and the public will never again feel quite the same about Tiger Woods...

Yes what he did was very wrong but that is between a man and his wife.

Again, you're beyond naive... you might not like it, but he's now a poster boy for the National Enquirer, and his every sexual escapade is fodder for the tabloid grist mill...

And do you REALLY think that a guy who chased tail as relentlessly as Tiger has is suddenly gonna go with the monogamy thing??

professionally he is the greatest player out there and his talent is not going to come to an end. Most of the PGA golfers owe alot to Tiger the reasons the season money total went from 60 to 280 mill a year was because of Tiger Woods. The game still needs him.

Again, this is true... Tiger will win more golf tournaments, he'll win more majors...

But that's not what this thread is about... this thread is about Tiger Woods, the Endorsement Machine... those days are gone forever...

His personal image yes is and will continue to be tarnished but I think many of the good things Tiger has done outside the game will be things he will continue to do.

I don't think he'll be able to do nearly as much as he did in the past when it comes to charitable work, simply because he won't have as much money... don't get me wrong, I think he'll do what he can, but it won't be what he did before this sordid specatcle...

And I don't think that Tiger's some monster now, just because he turned out to be a dedicated skirt chaser (there were a few years when I was in my 30s where I was semi-promiscuous, so I'd be hypocritical to judge him harshly for that)... I just think he's a flawed human being, much like the rest of us... unfortunately, his fortune was built not just on his talent, but on a carefully-crafted image of a fine, upstanding young man...

We've just found out that he's not the role model we all thought he was... it's sad, really...

That is hard to say today.

No, it's not...

Tiger's endorsements were not just because he was the game's greatest player; before him, that honor went to Jack Nicklaus, and he didn't get anywhere NEAR the endorsements that Tiger has...

Nope, his endorsements came about as much because of his wholesome, appealing public image as they did because of his athletic skills... and that image is quite thoroughly destroyed, with no chance that he can ever recover it...

Some of the endorsement may not but others will take there place. How Tiger plays and conducts himself over time will attract endorsements down the line.

We're not saying he won't get any endorsements, but there is absolutely no way he'll EVER pull down anywhere near the kind of endorsement money he did in the recent past...

Sponsors won't want him as much, because he's now front page news on the tabloids... that is not the image they want associated with their products...

The ball is in Tiger court of how he conducts himself as time goes on.

Not really, but even if it was, color me dubious that he'll suddenly swear off chasing trashy women, cold turkey... a man who lets his johnson do his thinking doesn't suddenly stop listening to the wrong head, and Tiger's rich, young and handsome, so the ladies will still be flocking around...

I think right now there is a lot of piling on of Tiger and people are forgetting how much good he has done off the golf course. He made a mistake but that mistake is really between Tiger and his wife and all the good he has done should not be overlooked.

what has he done to help the black community?

and the "mistake" wasn't a one off, it was long term with at least 15 chicks

Elin isn't leaving him because he got some on the side, most wives can look past that, it's the fact he got some on the side with so many.

He'll be just like Kobe. Lose some endorsements now but give him a couple of years and he'll be back to where he was.

except Kobe's wife didn't leave him and he only was caught once

Kobe also didn't build an image on being perfect and being able to walk on water, Eldrick did.

Let me say I'm not naive, I understand the type of world we live in now how else could trash like Jerry Springer and Murray povich be able to stay on TV. The public loves this trash.

I'm sure some will never forgive Tiger that is each person choice. For me I never looked at Tiger as imperfect to begin with but as a person who loves the game of golf I respect his ability which is why I watch him to begin with not because I need to know about his personal live.

By the way I watch Romo because I'm a fan of the Cowboys and enjoy watching him play not because he was with Jessica Simpson and so many people felt the need to know about his relationship with her. It really is none of our business but then maybe that is where the generation gap comes into play for so many now days that is what they need, for me this whole issue is one that is between a man and his wife.

I feel for Tiger wife and if she chooses to leave him I hope she nails him but again that is between her and him it has nothing to do with me nor the respect I have for his ability as a golfer

You realize Tiger is only half black and he is half Asian so is there a point to that statement.

but also it was only a one off thing so the ring could buy her affection again

Still, the point remains, he had one psycho white chick whereas Eldrick used his driver into at least 15

This has nothing to do with why people care... this is all about why SPONSORS will care... and they'll care because his image is now badly tarnished...

If the argument is that folks shouldn't care so much about any celebrity's private life, I'll agree with you... but they do, and because of that, sponsors care... and because of that, fewer sponsors will want Tiger representing them, and those that do won't be willing to pay as much as they would have a coupla months ago...

Tiger, Inc. has taken a major financial hit, and will never again be as valuable as it once was... that's what this thread has been about, right from the start, and it is the only argument I'm making here...
