The irony is pretty humorous!

blindzebra said:I did not post it as a prediction, nor...or should I say Nors...will I start a bunch of I said it first posts, if by chance, and it would be a slim chance, it happens.
I just thought it interesting what Parcells said about the 3-4 DL in relation to positions and how they do things to open up the LBs. Then what he said about Gurode today. Factor in the progaganda I think we have been getting about Gurode's "strides" and I threw it out there.![]()
Doomsday101 said:I was not picking on you just asked do you really think Bill will do that? Not trying break your balls here. Also no need to insult (with the nors comment) LOL
I think it was an interesting suggestion, BZ.blindzebra said:You think if I was worried about getting picked on, I'd have even brought it up?
That was not an insult, it was factual, topical, and I'll leave it up to you if it was funny.![]()

Nah, it's too early in this 3-4 implemretation to be fooling around with this level of experimentation, and too late in Dre's career to hinge it on a transition to defense.
Not fair to either the team or the individual player to attempt such an experiement just yet.
I want to see Dre stick here, whether as a valuable center/guard back up, in rotation with Al, or acknowledged starter ( tho I doubt he pulls that off).
Dre's just the kind of player who gets released and then turns up in NE or Philly, where the coaches make a player out of him. A mighty good one.
Good two-gapping noses...they don't seem to grow on trees, or fall off olines either.
Or we'd see a mess of humungous late-blooming slugs converted, I think.

Me too, CR.Crown Royal said:Forgive me, but I find it too difficult to pick and choose when I think Parcells is being dishonest. I guess I am too trusting, but I believe everything that he says.
When he tells me there is a chance that Gurode can compete with Johnson, I believe him.
LaTunaNostra said:Tough few days for ya, Nors?
I mean with Ellis getting Bill's love yesterday and Dre the cheese today?
I don't think either one is going anywhere but Dallas this season.
Nors said:Great few days, not tough at all. Appears Parcells tirade has made it clear in Ellis's head what his role is. He'll be a nice part of our 3-4 DE rotation and get some reps when we go 4-3.
Gurodabust is a serviceable backup. There is little to no chance he can mentally hold down that job. Al Johnson is a future Pro Bowler. I take Parcells talk more to motivate Big Al. But thats just How I'm reading that. Gurodabust is in a battle to make this roster.
Great news abounds as we role out the 3-4. My boy Rat is playing TE some. Canty is medically cleared today. Bledsoe is the starting QB of the Dallas Cowboys. J Jones is healthy. Glenn is healthy.
I'm in Nirvana.

I'll go on record and say he has the same chance as a snowball does here.blindzebra said:Gurode plays better with the man in front of him, so why not try him at NT?
He's big enough, he's got a mean streak, we have iffy depth at NT so why not give him a look in practice?
We got thin at TE and moved some defensive players over on the goal line formations, shouldn't it work the other way too?![]()
