Does Watt play in a 4-3?
3-4 outside linebacker, which is what you said Parsons should play. Watt is the highest-paid 3-4 OLB in the game, so Parsons wanting to be paid like one of the top DEs is not exactly a reach. He's one of the top pass rushers and he will and should get paid like it whether he's a DE or a LB.

Just because he's not getting sacks doesn't mean he's disappeared. He's either getting pressures, drawing protection away from other (who still can't do anything), or forcing the opponent to change their game plan.
OR just not playing well which you refuse to consider

Watt plays in a 3-4
Garrett plays in s 4-3

Might want to pay attention to football next time
What has Von Miller played in his career?

It is fluid. Teams play base D only about 20-30% of the time now. You make it sound like if he’s labeled an OLB and rushes 70-80% of the time then he shouldn’t be able to call himself a premiere rusher.

SF, Detroit, and GB ran at him and over him and exposed him
He is not a 4-3 DE
People like you who don’t understand the game were also happy when Dak and Diggs got paid LOL

Thats the point
If we move to a 3-4 im fine paying him but not as a 4-3 DE which he is not

To add some context to my previous post. Seattle had the best D in the league playing a 4-3 using Red Bryant as a BIG DE. Cliff Avril was the small DE and he frequently stood up at the LOS, opposite KJ Wright. It was virtually indistinguishable from a 3-4.

Read my post below this. Your mind is stuck on arbitrary designations. I agree that the best way to use him is maybe not to allow teams to run at him all day, negating his strength. But the 3/4-4/3 distinction is not the hill do die on.

Should Dwight Freeney have taken a discount because he was a smaller DE?

Either way, we're paying him as a top pass rusher. Those are the players who draw the big bucks. You may not be fine paying him as one of the top 4-3 DEs, but his numbers say he's one of the best at rushing the passer. That's all that matters when it comes to pay at the position.

Very different
In a 3-4 you are building the defense as such and protrcting him and getting value
In a 4-3 SF and GB and Detroit showed us what they will do
He cant hold up as an elite 4-3 DE

Im not against paying him at the top if we are getting value

We are getting value. He is one of the best pass rushers in the game. You can try to qualify that, but the numbers show that he is elite. It's up to the defensive coordinator to use an elite weapon in the best way. If the coordinator doesn't, that's not on the player.

I'm for holding on to our elite players and trying to build the team around them. We don't have many and there's no guarantee we're going to find many more.

Now do Von Miller.

What about John Randle? More recently Aaron Donald, Grady Jarret, Ed Oliver.

You are right, we are different. You have a limited mind. You’re the type of fool who would have passed on Steph Curry (not a true point and not big enough to be a shooting guard), and Victor Wembanyama (not big enough) because they didn’t fit the mold of what your narrow cognition can grasp.
