About to board our flight to come out to Dallas. One of my former softball players is getting married and we are coming out for Saturday wedding. Sunday, her husband to be is a huge Cowboys fan, so we will get in a quick tailgate and then off to the game.

This is first time in a while its just me and the wife. Cant wait to visit my favorite place once again.... and yes, give Jerry some of my money.

Awesome!!!! Have fun!!!

Fighting for second place behind Culvers

Are you serious? LOL
My daughter is in college at FSU, and we live in South Florida.....she knows, don't even think about coming home w/o bringing dad a Whataburger, and yes it's just as good reheated.
I didn’t say it wasn’t good. One of the better “ franchise “ burgers but is over rated. Five Guys is better and numerous local mom and pops .

Enjoy the game -- it should be interesting!
The betting line is that Dallas is favored by 6.5 points.
That should make for a pleasant game to be in attendance for.

Is it even legal to watch football with no beer?
I think not—Obey the law!
I attended Cowboys games for over 4 decades as a season ticket holder. Most of which alcohol sales were illegal at Texas Stadium. I can honestly say I’ve never had a beer at a game .

And wish it was still illegal. Alcohol consumption is biggest cause for disruption and unacceptable behavior at the games . So many fans are kicked out due to their abusive behavior from intoxication than any other reason. This is a family event.

Most Amateur football games don’t allow alcohol sales and with much less violence and abusive behavior . It’s all about the money at professional level. Sad fans can’t go 2 or 3 hours without drinking .

They might actually get into the game more and wouldn’t be such a nuisance getting up as often for concessions and bathrooms. It’s a big reason why I choose not to attend Cowboy games anymore.

This wasn’t directed towards you as you were just trying to be funny but the thought spurred my response.

There’s plenty of things in society that “may”, and some that clearly do, add to problems, but I say it’s better to have rules and enforce them on those who violate the rules and have reasonable and maybe some fairly strict rules.

I disagree with your entire premise that alcohol is the biggest cause…. I’d like to see some empirical data to back that and no your anecdotes don’t equal that. I’m sure some might argue extreme fanaticism for a team contributes more.

I could say it’s sad that you attend games and don’t drink beer. But I don’t push my morality and judgements on others.

I could also say I think all sober people act like judgmental *** holes, but that would be unfairly stereotyping them based on a few people’s actions. :)

Well, Jethro already got his money from those brokered tickets.

And most motels and restaurants offer free shuttles . You shouldn’t have to walk.

No, it doesn’t make you a sucker.

Share a pic from your trip.
My hotel is the Marriott Arlington Entertainment District. Weve stayed there for about 4 or so years now. No shuttle needed. The stadium takes 5 minutes to walk there. Faster than a car in that traffic:)

I drink... plenty. I just stop drinking at the tailgate. BUT, I would 100% agree with the premise that most trouble at games involves intoxicated individuals. Fantaicism is what drives it for sure. Add that, maleness, and alcohol and then a loss and wala, you have pissed off drunks that are looking at those in opposing jerseys to start crap with.

Do I have any data? no, because I cant imagine anyone has actually started tracking incidents at games and alcohol use.

But I also agree with you. Just because there are 100 people out of 80k that drink and start trouble doesnt mean we should ban all alcohol sales for those that can have a beer, a good time and not start any trouble.

Who said I didnt drink beer? When you tailgate for 3 or 4 hours before the game starts... you dint need to buy the beer in the stadium. I want to keep my wife going to the games and if I have plenty in the parking lot, and more in the stadium... ill be drunk after and that wont make for a happy wife. So I have my last drink as we are walking up to the entrance. Then, its no more alcohol for me:)
