We haven't had a good Skins ribbing in a while. And no one loves this more than I.... Well maybe 5 Stars.. but no one else! All I have to say is Bwahaha. :lmao2: :skins: :thumbdo:

Predictions:On your team, who will make the HoF?

I'm a die hard Skins fan, so it hurts me to think about the talent we have let go. I beleive that Champ Bailey will make the HoF. The rest of the guys, A.Pierce, Smoot, and Lavar, will have a hard time getting in. I don't feel like they match up very well with their contemporaries, but they have the talent to make it to the HoF. With that said here are the guys I think will make the hall on the Commanders current staff:

1)Marcus Washington(he won't go on the first or second ballot, but if the writers don't vote him in, the players will.

2)Clinton Portis(Emmit Smith had only 3 years of rushing for 1500, or more yards over a 15 year career. CP has 3 years of 1,500 yards or better, and he's entering into his fifth year as a pro.)

3) Chris Samuel, Randy Thomas, and Jon Jansen.

On the bubble:

1)Marc Brunell(has a 84.9 QB rating, and has thrown for over 30,000 yards. He needs a ring to solidify his induction to Canton IMO.)

2) Shawn Springs(The enigma. Has over 30 int's in his career. I don't think the writers will vote him in, but the players might.)

With promise:

1) Sean Taylor (The man commands respect, and he might be the single reason Safety's are being considered in the top of the draft. 6'2 230 and runs a 4.3. And he delivers hits with the suddlety of a sledge hammer, and covers like a cb. Check out these #'s 120 tackles, 2 sacks, and 6 ints. Nobody even comes close over their first two years at FS.)

2) C. Griffin(Once again I don't know if the writers will vote him in, but I think the players from his era will.)

haha that's good stuff. Gotta love the extreme skins board for a good laugh. If Marcus Washington makes the hall of fame, I'll personally go to canton and eat the hall of fame building, brick by brick.

They're insufferable this offseason. Its amazing what your first winning season in a decade will do.

Doesn't this guy know that the players don't vote for the HOF?

And I also love how skins fans are all saying that they have us by the short and curlies. They've won 3 games in past 7 years or somehting ridiculous like that. I had become so apathetic to us winning against them, that I lost count.:lmao2:

This is the absolute truth-- completely insufferable from one year of success. Try living in the DC metropolitan area!

1) Someone should notify them that players don't have a vote for the Hall of Fame.

2) Some of those players need to make the Pro Bowl ONCE (numerous times, actually, but once would be a start) before they make the Hall of Fame.

See, that's your first problem... You allow "SkinsFan" and "Knowledge" in the same thought.

:nono2:

Of all the league's fans, it seems to me that Skins fans have the least actual football knowledge... Of course, I live in the DC Area, but there are plenty of other fans here also. I can get into a real football debate with about 4 skins fans out of the 100's that I know.

I think it was said by a former dolphins player when asked about the perfect season being matched 'Don't call me when you enter my city, call me when your on my block' . I'm paraphrasing of course but I feel the same thing when reading this statement.

I think Roy Williams is the only player on our roster even if he doesn't win a ring that has a chance to get into the Hall of Fame.

I would add Drew Bledsoe to that.

I can't stand TO, but depending on the next few years he has a better shot than anybody on our current team including RW.

I personally think Newman is a better corner than RW is a safety, but not saying at all that I think he will make it, but just that talent level alone he is one of the most talented on the team.

I believe that would be because of Roy Williams...

Off the list he posted, Portis has a shot at it if he puts in another 5 years like his first 4.

i think thats selling some of the roster short. what about the rookies? what about players that haven't reached their potential? sure, they might not have the stats or credentials now, but who knows. and roy isn't a lock to make it in himself. seems a little hard to evaluate even taking account offseason boredom.

that being said, that Commanders post is absurd. three players from the same roster being inducted doesn't happen very often, and those skins are by no means comparable to "the twins". dallas bais aside, i think that clearly shows how difficult an acheivement that is.

I don't think we have anyone close to HOF credentials on our current roster other than TO.

Year Team G GS No Yards Avg Lg TD 20+ 40+ FD
1996 San Francisco 49ers 16 10 35 520 14.9 46 4 7 2 23
1997 San Francisco 49ers 16 15 60 936 15.6 56 8 16 1 48
1998 San Francisco 49ers 16 10 67 1097 16.4 79 14 17 4 52
1999 San Francisco 49ers 14 14 60 754 12.6 36 4 12 0 36
2000 San Francisco 49ers 14 13 97 1451 15.0 69 13 23 5 65
2001 San Francisco 49ers 16 16 93 1412 15.2 60 16 21 6 70
2002 San Francisco 49ers 14 14 100 1300 13.0 76 13 17 5 61
2003 San Francisco 49ers 15 15 80 1102 13.8 75 9 15 4 55
2004 Philadelphia Eagles 14 14 77 1200 15.6 59 14 20 9 51
2005 Philadelphia Eagles 7 7 47 763 16.2 91 6 10 4 32
TOTAL 142 128 716 10535 14.7 91 101 158 40 493

He really started coming into his own around 2000. In his last 6 seasons he has averaged 90 yards/game and 0.9 TDs/game. This averages over a 16-game season to be 1440 yards and 14 TDs.

He probably needs 3 more good years in the league without being a pain in the arse to solidify his chances due to all the extraneous issues. He qualifies because of good numbers put up over mulitple years, including a stretch in which he was considered the best at his position.

Getting the Receiving yards up around 15 000 and TDs closer to 140 will help out his cause quite a bit.

As for the younger players, it is way too early to speculate about guys like Roy, Ware, TNew etc.
