Honest Question about Henson versus Romo

I think one way to gauge whether Parcells is a QB guru or whether he is playing favorites is a question I'm going to pose. I have my own opinion on it, which I will share, but I would like your opinion.

If right now Dallas offerred Drew Henson or Tony Romo on the trade market, who would bring the highest price from another NFL team?

Or, even to put it another way. If they put them both out there in yard sale fashion and had a FOR FREE tag on them, which one would go first?

I'm convinced that Henson would be taken by other NFL teams before Tony Romo in almost 100% of the cases.

What do you think?

You're probably right in your assessment because Henson would just be the sexier pick of the two because of his pedigree and the school he went to. Nobody but Parcells and Jones know what Romo is capable of.

But coaches have heard of Drew Henson.

But GMs that are paid to make that pick dont look at sexy. Surely the lack of playing time for both would make it a tough choice, but I think more GMs would take Romo as a more solid QB with a shorter road to the NFL game.

The only thing I would ask on the poll is try your best not to just vote for your favorite between the two. Give some honest thought to it, and post your reasons, like the few who have already posted. Thoughtful answers so far, even the one I disagree with. I can see the point that some would say that they see Henson as a longer term project. Don't agree with it, but at least there is a reason why they think that Romo would go first.

I think its plain to see. Henson would have been a good draft pick and Romo was a late round or not drafter? I dont recall...

Also if you think about it... How did we get him? = from Texans and why? = because of his potential.

I dont care for either one. If I was a gm I would have to concider Romo being the number two. Not that it says much, but it has to say something.

Any team would take Henson over Romo. Henson is big and extremely strong. Very athletic and mobile. Rocket arm. Can throw hard on the run to.

Romo would be taken by some teams to but just not before Henson. Romo has a good arm but it is not even close to Hensons.

The one thing Romo has over here in Dallas is that he is Parcells boy as where Henson is not. If both these guys were on any other team the coach would be doin everything he could to get Henson ready to be the next franchise QB. Instead of here where BP brings in retreads and has no clue how to get ready for the future of this team.

How is Henson NOT a Parcells boy? The Henson backers swear Parcells was all up and gitty over the guy.

I'd like to see either one of these guys take a snap before deciding.

Therein lies the problem.

Parcells will bring back Phil Simms before he lets Romo or Henson take a snap.

What seems to be forgotten was a Dallas newspaper reported within last 10 days or so that the Cowboys were offered a 3rd round pick for Romo just before the trade deadline and Cowboys turned it down. If report accurate, that says it all.

Can we start over again and this time DO NOT SCREW WITH HENSONS motion?

That would make this a non-issue.

who really believes that? Romo wasn't drafted, has never played a down, and the Jets needed a starter, makes no sense whatsover.

The only people who haven't woken up about Henson yet lay right here in Cowboy Territory. So unless one of yall went and got one of those jobs it would be Romo hands down.

We're talking a backup roll for 30 minutes or less. Now who do you trust to get it delivered in that time? LOL

I'd have to say Romo right now.

Half these teams have Parcells disciples in their organzation. And its not just BP, Payton was in love with Romo before BP was.

To suggest anything else is just putting your opinion in the mind of 30 other GMs.

Tom Brady was not only a 6th round pick coming out he was actually the 3rd QB of that 6th round. No one was in love with him until he got ot th eleague but once he played no one cared he wasn't a 1st round pick. Which is just along way of saying just because teams liked Henson more 3 years ago doesn't mean they would today.
