Honest question, What are the 49rs doing to confuse Dak

Agree with a lot of these replies…

• Dak struggles with zone concepts . Vic Fangio set the blueprint for Denver a couple years ago

• Niners play more physical. They just dominate both lines.

• Cowboys now have the mental block to conquer when playing them. It’s entrenched until they beat them.

Nice inquiry by the OP.
Dak destroyed the Eagles zone last year and crumbled against the 49ers.....I think its more than that.

Well I was fine admitting that 3 losses ago.....but being they are 1-3 in their last 4 games? Not sure if I can use that excuse anymore.
I can see them kicking it into the playoffs gear more than I can see the Cowboys doing so. So I do think their organization is better run.

I mean you can argue that but Cowboys for sure haven't lost 3 games in a row and this team has gone games without Tyron, Dak, LVE, Lamb......nearly everyone. McCarthy also isn't 1-31 when trailing by 3+ points going into the 4th.

Dak struggles mightily against zone coverage. Interceptions abound.

Dak HATES to run. And he's not terribly athletic like true running quarterbacks.
Look at how he throws on the run. He's athletic. He's not as fast as Lamar but athleticism isn't his issue.

All of these answers make sense but some teams have had success against them so it seems we need to gameplan like they do. Maybe Cousins is just better against zone, I don't think the Oline is much better than ours. Burrow had his best game of the year against them but he has not been stellar all year.

It is up to the coaching staff to figure out what will work and what Dak is comfortable with and the Oline to give him better protection!
The 49ers force QB’s to throw into tight windows. Sure the coaches can help, but Dak ultimately has to trust his reads and receivers

You're just spewing nonsense. How do you know he doesn't double pump because he's recognizing or trying to recognize the coverage?

I didn't see him double pumping vs the Chargers when he made a game winning drive.

Like I said he throws into tight coverage all the time. Yall crap on him if he protects the ball and crap on him when he gambles. Make up your minds. He's been the hottest qb in the league for a month now.
Have you missed his last three games against the Niners? Good defenses that play a lot of zone really give him problems.

They are they had a bad stretch. They have the best front 7 in football and can get to you by rushing just 4 and their lbs are great

It’s not an excuse they are literally better and the majority of spots the only place we are better is the secondary and right now qb.
I’d also take lamb over all their guys but that’s where it ends imo

The past two playoff losses to SF the Cowboys played poorly (including Dak) but both were still just one score defeats.

A month ago the game got out of hand so quickly I think it was just a combination of a horrible game plan and even worse execution.

I think at this time the 49ers just match up better than the Cowboys do to them. Kind of like how in the Dave Campo years the Cowboys always beat Washington no matter how bad Dallas was.

Honest question, not a bash Dak thread or anything at all. I don't mean it that way, he has been playing great.

He struggles against San Fran there is no debating that. What are they doing to us that is different and that he is struggling to handle? I am not a football coach or that knowledgeable in schemes or designs but obviously if there is something they are doing, there should be a way for our coaches to design a scheme around it. They are a good defense against the pass but not great by any means. Mid pack in yards allowed but #1 in ints.

Minnesota and Cinncinatti lit them up. Is that the film to study to figure out how to be successful against them?
Could be nothing more than the Niners are one of the best teams in the NFC and have been for some time.

It’s not that complicated.

If this were the case everyone would play zone against the Cowboys. Not making excuses for Dak here but the bottom line is it seems everything goes bad when the Cowboys play the 49ers lately. It's not like everything else has been perfect against them and it's just Dak losing the game. Dak could have thrown four TD's against them Oct. 8 and Dallas still would have lost.

That is not up for debate. We were discussing Dak double pumping in tight games. That is nonsense.

Clearly the Niners give him fits.

My point was he trust his arm just fine, which he demonstrates by throwing into tight coverage on a weekly basis.

If he is lacking trust against the niners particular zone defense, it's the looks he's getting and not trusting his eyes.

I'm not denying that.....but crapping on us and hyping them up? When they just came off a 3 game losing streak? I don't recall McCarthy losing 3 games in a row.

To me it’s still about using his legs. The past four games he’s drastically increased the number of times he’s used his legs whether that was to escape pressure or run.

Not only is it an underrated element we should be using a ton more… but it helps dak get into rhythm early in games.

It can still be a huge part of his game. And needs to be implemented more often in this offense
