Hope for Brice Butler over TWill

If he can stay healthy, I think Butler has a good chance of unseating TWill at #2. He is more physical, bigger catch radius, and better hands catcher. TWill probably has better straight line speed, but Butler seems to be able to make better plays on the ball downfield. Would be a nice development, considering this is Twill's contract year. Here's some highlights of Butler before he joined Dallas (just FF thru some of the chaff).

Brice has much more important things on his mind.

T will was drafted, so he will start.
To replace him butler would have to be way better.
I liked what little we saw of butler last year, but it is a small sample.

Draft weekend came and went without us getting a WR early. I said then don't be surprised to see Butler push TWill some. Wether or not he replaces TWill at starter I don't know but he will definately steal some snaps

Street was drafted too. They traded a draft pick for Butler and TWill has disappeared for 8 game stretches for 2 years in a row. He was auditioned as a WR1 and tanked. He is a marginal starter.

Lucky is starting to look like Byron Jones in how he is built. He has a chance to fight outside if his strength matches his new physique.

TWill and Romo have their moments. He scored some big tds for us.
I like Butler too. This is a good problem.

I'm judging but. All the WRs looked bad with Cassell and Weeden.. I don't know if it was play calling or QB sucking. Or Wr sucking. But with Moore as QB he went 8-173 yards. Not a bad days work.

There are people saying that Butler is similar to Marty B and is easily distracted by the things that come with being an nfl player.

That was Broaddus when he was tirading about players not loving football. Pass the salt please.

Williams is a pure ancillary player. He reminds me of James Jones when they had Nelson and Jennings. Basically a good outside WR in subpackages that can hurt a defense but you rely on him

We could do worse but right now it's between he and Free as the most replaceable on offense. I'm always for improving your weakest link. There are certainly bigger fish to fry on defense though SAM, CB depth, and a second safety are bigger needs.

People often forget how good Williams was in 2014, especially in the playoffs. He came alive and scored 3 Tds in two games. Williams is a serviceable number 2 with great potential. Give it a rest already.

yeah, my point was that dallas gives anyone they draft more chances, even claiborne, they never give up on him.
had he been from another team, FA, or udfa, he would have been gone long ago.
Williams was a round 3 pick? and street rd 5 ?
Street has had a couple good catches, but not much other than that, and he is still here.

Claiborne made some mistakes lining up but he was also excellent in coverage against Julio Jones and OBJ who opponents tried to mismatch. Those teams moved them around. Williams is dominated by double coverage and inconsistent against single coverage.

Street's clock is ticking as should TWill's IMO.
