Campbell played well but he always seems to come up short when the game is on the line.

Campbell's coming up short on Sunday was more a result of his receiver not leveling off once he saw Jason break contain. We were very fortunate. I thought Jason had a better chance running.

How can this guy go on national television and claim Clinton Portis, a blood-rival of the team he played for, won superbowls with, got inducted into the hall of fame as, is his absolute favorite player in the league? Seriously? If you like running backs, go with Adrian Peterson, Tom Brady even, since the guy is a QB and magic right now, but Clinton Portis? Really?

He then goes on to put the Thanksgiving home game on blast on national television, like a snitch ratting out his crime partners after he's already gotten his money and retired from the life. If it's such a huge advantage, how come we haven't won a playoff game in so long? We don't even deserve that game after coming off a 3 game division stretch?

I mean maybe he feels he's got to be hard on the Cowboys so he doesn't appear to be a homer, but there's a fine line between being critical and just being ridiculous.

Am I the only one that feels this way?

I think he was just trying to make sure he wasn't being biased. A few weeks ago he was questioning Portis ability anymore because of his durability. He's talking out of both sides of his mouth.

On the opposite end - Emmitt's comments on ESPN's pregame about how much he HATED the Commanders brought a tear to my eye, lol. Said that when Snyder bought the team, Emmitt shook his hand on the field and said "you'll never beat us as long as I'm here." And they didn't until Emmitt's last game against them.

I don't care that Troy is a fan of Portis. His take on the Thanksgiving day game was nonsense, tho.

Uhhmmmmm.......So having a short week AND having to travel is not a disadvantage to our opponets? In other words not having to use a day to travel in an already short week is not an advantage for the Cowboys? There are a lot worse TV announcers out there then Aikman.Just because he calls out #31 is no reason to hate the guy. LOL

Troy Aikman one of the best anouncers out there.

Sorry you all need one that kisses Cowboy arse all the time.

I'm with ya.

I mean, how dare Aikman decide to like someone the Cowboys fandom dislikes?

Who told him to have an opinion without consulting Cowboys nation?

How dare he form an opinion about the Thanksgiving Day game - a game he played in for countless seasons? Doesn't he know he should have checked with us arm-chair quarterbacks to find out what playing on Thanksgiving really means?

Yes, I feel the same way. Off with Aikman's head I say. :)

I think you all need to stop crying and recognize that he is looking at the game like a football announcer not the QB of the Dallas Cowboys. He likes the fact that Portis plays hard, picks up blitzes well and does the little things that most backs don't or won't do. BIG DEAL.

And I heard him compliment Dallas plenty of times yesterday, including more than once when he said "great throw by Romo".

I swear, this is the one thing that I just don't get about many Cowboys fans. Do you want the truth, or just what you want to hear?

What peeves me off so much is all the negative talk Troy says about the Cowboys...and then little Buck just eats it up and spews in his smart --- comments

The one comment that really just ate at me for some reason was when Dallas called the Timeout right after the 2 minute warning. Buck says "Wonder if Wade will make them sign a letter for that too" in a real sarcastic voice, and then it went to commercial.

I think Troy is just trying too hard to work the other team so he wont be labelled a Cowboys slappy
I was thinking the same thing! He tries TOO hard not to look like a homer to the point where he's actually seems to insult and overlook Dallas to give props to whatever opponent they're facing!!

I had no problem with the job Troy did. Washington came in as a 10.5 point underdog and played great and Troy acknowledge the play of the Skins because it was deserved. He said a lot of good things about Dallas as well. His job is to be objective and to call it as he sees it. I think he did that

I think Aikman was remiss in not pointing out that Dallas big play success was due in part to Washington's success in playing the short to intermediate stuff very tight.

What Romo and TO eventually did to the Skins was predictable. Romo eventually took what the Skins gave him by throwing over the defense, in the same way that Campbell took the short stuff Dallas was conceding in order to protect against the big play.

It takes a great defense (or a subpar offense) to have it both ways, tight enough to prevent moving the chains, but adequately protected on the deep ball.

Dallas scores weren't just "lucking out" on the big play as some might have felt was inferred.

To his credit I thought Troy did a great job of providing insight on what I think was TO's 3rd TD. He said Dallas picked up a tendency and practiced all week to exploit that and then pointed it out in the replay.

That is an announcer worth listening to.

One more Aikman criticism though.

Troy remarked, with about 8 minutes left I believe, that if Dallas could get a TD on that position it would likely signal game over for the Skins.

Not a smart comment if you have any knowledge of Cowboy-Skins history and today's NFL in particular where quick TD drives are very commonplace.

As it turned out teh Cowboys did go up 2 scores and yet the game was very much in doubt until the very end. Troy should know better.

I thought Aikmans comments about not being the home team before T-Day were idiotic.

Lets say for a second that Dallas was the away team the game before. What does that even do? Nothing because the team would fly home as scheduled for any other game and still be back in Dallas to sleep at home Sunday night.

Oh sure, minor inconvenience of boarding the plane but at the end of the day, they are still at home.

I was listening to Nate on ESPN radio today. He basically said that he loves Troy to death, but told Troy to ease up on the Cowboy bashing.
