Houston Texans vs Kansas City Chiefs thread

You are correct. 8-10 with a loss in SB XIX.

And I realize you were pointing out truth so the rest is not directed to you :)

For those who doubt Mahomes, especially when compared to Marino…

Marino
8-10 playoff record
1 Super Bowl (loss)

Mahomes
15-3 record
3 Super Bowl Wins (four appearances)

Also, after today;
8 consecutive AFC Championship games.

Anyone who doesn’t recognize his greatness is an idiot.
Patrick Mahomes could not shine Dan Marino’s shoes

Houston is still the only active team in the NFL never to appear in a conference championship game. They are now 0-6 in the divisional round. They have been in the league now 23 or 24 years. Garbage franchise as a whole.
Well, they've gotten farther than Dallas, since their inception.

Dan Marino is not in the same class as Mahomes. Please stop.
Yes, Dan Marino is considered one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history. He was a Pro Bowler nine times and an All-Pro eight times. He was also elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2005.

Why Marino is considered one of the best quarterbacks ever

  • Passing numbers: In 1984, Marino passed for 5,084 yards and 48 touchdowns.

  • Winning record: Marino was one of the NFL's winningest quarterbacks, with 147 regular-season victories.

  • Playing in an era when passing wasn't as easy: Marino's passing numbers were modern-looking for the time, when the sport wasn't as evolved as it is now.

  • Views of other quarterbacks: Joe Montana has said that Marino is the best quarterback of all time.

Marino's Mount Rushmore of quarterbacks

  • Marino's Mount Rushmore of quarterbacks includes Joe Montana, John Elway, and Jim Kelly. He also mentioned Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady as quarterbacks who could be considered among the best ever.

Half of those sacks was because he refused to get rid of the ball. Change up your approach if pressure is coming.

Officiating? Stop. Gets so old just reverting to the refs because KC wins.
Very hard to stop, when the ref's do it weekly.

I get the Texans outgained the Chiefs, but they also gave up 8 sacks. Even rarer to win when you give up 8 sacks, miss a field goal and an extra point and have another one blocked.

Maybe Fairbairn's time in Houston is up. Just saying.
Houston is gonna look back @ this and special teams/refs in the Chief's back pocket is gonna be the difference.
