Houston Texans vs Kansas City Chiefs thread

Our Cowboys are still the greatest dynasty in football history!!! Kids nowadays will never understand the men I watched during that run!!

The guy is a choke artist blessed. You should’ve had another ring but he blew it. Look there’s no doubt he is good quarterback. He just has a fantastic organization with him. They only scored 27 points on average this season and they’re in the freaking championship.
They have a pretty decent defense, that has something to do with it.

Yes, Dan Marino is considered one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history. He was a Pro Bowler nine times and an All-Pro eight times. He was also elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2005.

Why Marino is considered one of the best quarterbacks ever

  • Passing numbers: In 1984, Marino passed for 5,084 yards and 48 touchdowns.

  • Winning record: Marino was one of the NFL's winningest quarterbacks, with 147 regular-season victories.

  • Playing in an era when passing wasn't as easy: Marino's passing numbers were modern-looking for the time, when the sport wasn't as evolved as it is now.

  • Views of other quarterbacks: Joe Montana has said that Marino is the best quarterback of all time.

Marino's Mount Rushmore of quarterbacks

  • Marino's Mount Rushmore of quarterbacks includes Joe Montana, John Elway, and Jim Kelly. He also mentioned Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady as quarterbacks who could be considered among the best ever.
lol, you posted the Google ai summary of Marino’s career? I’ll list Mahomes below.

Anyway, Marino was a great QB talent. No one says he wasn’t.

But QB’s are now, and always have been, judged on the post season.

To argue otherwise is akin to defending flat earth theory.
Also, are you Dan Marino’s kid? That’s all I can come up with.

Here’s my lazy AI reply to your lazy AI comments.

  • Super Bowl wins: Mahomes has won three Super Bowls, while Brady has won seven.

  • Super Bowl MVPs: Mahomes has won three Super Bowl MVPs, while Brady has won five.

  • Playoff wins: Mahomes has more playoff wins than Peyton Manning in his first six seasons as an NFL starter.

  • Regular season stats: Mahomes holds the record for the most passing yards per game in NFL history.

  • Age: Mahomes is the youngest player to win league MVP and the Super Bowl MVP in the same season.
Mahomes's accomplishments include:

  • Winning two league MVPs and two Super Bowl MVPs in a five-season span
  • Being the first player to win three Super Bowl MVPs in a five-season span
  • Being the first player in the NFL to win two league MVP awards and three Super Bowl MVPs before the age of 30
  • Has reached the AFC Championship eight times

You are correct. 8-10 with a loss in SB XIX.

And I realize you were pointing out truth so the rest is not directed to you :)

For those who doubt Mahomes, especially when compared to Marino…

Marino
8-10 playoff record
1 Super Bowl (loss)

Mahomes
15-3 record
3 Super Bowl Wins (four appearances)

Also, after today;
8 consecutive AFC Championship games.

Anyone who doesn’t recognize his greatness is an idiot.
Everyone should see Mahome’s greatness as he has done it with lots of star playmakers and with very few.
However, I will die on the hill arguing that wins and losses are not on the QB Unless his whole team plays a winning game and he gives it away.

How many can name Mariano’s OC and say he had a great defense?
Mahomes is the BEST, but surely everyone sees that he must share all credit with Andy Reid and a fantastic defense that sports a great secondary behind a terrific front seven.

You wanna hear another good one?

Tom Brady has more playoff wins with the Bucs than Dak and Romo has playoff wins combined lolololololol
Meh. Cheatriots got helped all of those years by Badell by being allowed to play in the easiest division, along with easy schedules. That's not including how many times Belichick, Brady and the Cheatriots were always cheating.

Didn’t Marino have Shula and a truly elite set of offensive playmakers. His defenses were good, but never great.

Mahomes has also had good defenses. None of them truly great. He’s also had good playmakers on offense, similar to Marino.

It just seems like more than a little bit disingenuous to prop up Mahomes record as being the product of a system or a team while portraying Marino as one man in the middle of mediocracy that was always being let down.

I never bought it then and I don’t buy it now.
