He was released by the Dolphins and I'd love him at the SAM LB spot. He can cover and is a better fit in the 4-3.

Just read an ESPNDallas article that said Burnett wants to come back to Dallas. Yay or nay?

Here ye, here ye, I say yay.

I'm with ya. He had over 100 tackles last year, 2.5 sacks and a bunch of pass breakups. He's gotta be better than Albright/Wilber at this point, right?

Plus I think he can play all 3 LB spots if needed (in case of another injury to Lee or Carter).

Maybe. But he has also played all 16 games for the past 3 years.

Absolutely. Always thought he was better suited for a 43 than 34 anyways.

these are the kind of people we're forced to consider. i have no problem with it. and you know he's a stand up guy, no off the field issues.

I would like to see Burnett back, he would be good in the new defense.

If they can figure out a way to make it work, then he would be a good addition.

This would be a quality signing, having all 3 LB's who can cover if you ask them to. Again, until Romo is done, you have to find guys who will sign around the vet min & that is going to be hard to do.

I read Chase Blackburn as well. I like Blackburn better

I would bring burnett and laurentt Robinson both back but both to a very minimum contract

Burnett may be cheaper than Blackburn. Do we have the dollars for blackburn?

thesports78, where is the article that says he would be interested in returning to the Cowboys??

We have the dollars for anyone once Spencer or Romo get done

Chase Blackburn vs. Kevin Burnett: The Cowboys released backup inside linebacker Dan Connor because he refused to take a pay cut. The Cowboys are in the market for another one and like middle linebacker Blackburn, who started 15 games last season for the New York Giants at middle linebacker. He finished second on the Giants with 97 tackles and had eight tackles for loss and seven quarterback hits. He also had three sacks and six pass breakups. If signed, Blackburn, an eight-year pro, would be a nice backup for Sean Lee at the inside linebacker spot. But what about Burnett? The former Cowboys linebacker was released by the Miami Dolphins on Tuesday and might be a nice pickup to start at that vacant outside linebacker position. Burnett, who started 16 games for the Dolphins last season at one of the outside linebacker positions in the Dolphins' 3-4 scheme, would like a return to Dallas. He was credited with 109 total tackles (second on the team), picked up 2 1/2 sacks, five tackles for loss and five quarterback hits. Who would you rather have, Blackburn or Burnett?
