How Are Your Draft Day Pet Cats doing?

I was all over Kenny Britt. Mcshay tried to pull some BS on him. Lost credibility there.

I liked Clint Sintim, he might be injured now.

Hows Rashad Johnson doing?

I wanted Sean Smith at 51 until his stock rose so high I figured he be gone by 32

I really wanted Ron Brace at 51

I picked Jason Williams but in 3 or 4 rd

Is there a Felix Jones in the CFL or UFL I don't know about, cuz I about shot Lipton instant tea through my nose with the Ray Rice comparison.

I think Felix is the better talent, no doubt, but if he can't consistently stay on the field, he won't have the more productive career.

Rice:
Career: 170 attempts for 818 yards, 56 receptions for 481 yards

Felix:
Career: 51 attempts for 478 yards, 3 receptions for 30 yards

Rice has more yards receiving than Jones does rushing at this point.

I liked Chung, I think he's only playing on Special teams for NE.

I'm a big fan of Harris. I loved him at VT. I used to watch their games just to watch that guy.

Wasn't this about this years draft? If so then Steve Smith doesn't apply cause he was drafted a couple years ago.

The two guys I really wanted Smith and Delmas were drafted before we even got on the board so I'm not hurt about missing out on them.

I was referring to Duke Robinson.

so...Timmy Smith once rushed for 200+ yds in a super bowl

I don't think Ray Rice accumulated those stats in One game like Timmy.:)

Ray may not have the athletic ability of Felix, strike that..Ray does NOT have the athletic ability of Felix.

However that does not mean he has not done a good job for Baltimore.

The thing I think the guy was saying is...Is a great playmaker like Felix better for a team when he is missing multiple games or is a good player like Rice better for a team since he does not miss much.

I think that is a legit question and debate.

Now if Felix stayed healthy, it would be a no brainer, but that is a problem right now and until he does stay healthy it will remain a problem.

What he said. Ray Rice is doing well in Bmore. Willis only had 1 carry and 1 reception last week. Next year, Willis will be gone and Rice will be given the chance to perform.

I'm not talking about guys that we had no chance of drafting.. Alot of guys wanted Delmas, Chung, English ect.. I wanted Macho Harris cause I'm a Va Tech homer.. He's starting for the Eagirls. 12 tackles no interceptions..
Sean Smith (taken at the end of rd 2) is doing fine in Miami

I say it's a player like Rice. At the end of the day, you have to have productivity out of your players, especially if they are high draft picks. Felix has skills that can take your team to the Super Bowl but you can not count on him so it makes it very tough to incorperate that into your plans. If you do and he's not there, you could get yourself fired as a coach.

During this last draft, as many may remember, I did not want to draft Jones. Not that I didn't think he was a good player. I just felt like it was too high a price for a guy who would only be used sparingly. I actually wanted us to take Jamaal Charles or Steve Slaton because I believed we could get them lower in the draft and much cheaper.

When I see Felix play, I think to myself, I had to be nuts to want one of these other guys but then, when he's injured, I remember why I wanted these other guys.

Chris Johnson is the RB we passed on that is really standing out right now and he has not missed any games yet. But it's early yet, so we'll see.

He had a nice year last yr, but Felix Jones was on pace for a really good yr too before getting hurt.

This year, Chris Johnson has done very little save one game. The other 4 games he's been basically invisible to average. He scored all 3 of his tds and had almost all of his pass receptions on the season in one game (vs a bad Houston defense) and did nothing vs Pittsburgh or Indy, the two best teams he faced.

Once Felix stays healthy for awhile, this debate will end. Just like the "we should have taken Merriman over Ware!!!!" junk we had to put up with for a yr or two.

Its just too early to say. At one time very early in their careers, we could have easily wrote off Michael Irvin and Ken Norton too, yet we saw how that turned out.

I said Johnny Knox was worthy of our first pick in the draft, a late second-rounder, and several people scoffed ... you know who you are. (Not that I expected him to be taken that early, just that he was worth taking that early, and it wouldn't have bothered me if he was.)

Let me see ...

Knox races to top of NFL rankings in kickoff return average

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – In returning the second-half kickoff 102 yards for a touchdown Sunday, Johnny Knox dashed through the Lions’ coverage team and right to the top of the NFL rankings.

Buoyed by the second-longest kickoff return in Bears history, the rookie fifth-round pick leads the league with a 35.8-yard average on nine returns. Last year, Danieal Manning topped the NFL in kickoff returns with a 29.7-yard average.

Bears rookie Johnny Knox has scored a touchdown in each of the last three games.
Knox has also excelled on offense, catching 14 passes for 190 yards, including 7-yard touchdowns in back-to-back games against the Steelers and Seahawks. He leads the Bears with three TDs.

“I’ve talked about him every time I’ve stood up here after a game,” coach Lovie Smith said Monday at Halas Hall. “He’s making progress each week. He is becoming a threat whenever he touches the ball, whether it’s returning kickoffs or as a pass receiver.”

Knox was named the NFC special teams player of the week for his performance against the Lions. The 22-year-old also is a finalist for the Pepsi NFL rookie of the week award. In addition to his 102-yard kickoff return TD, he also caught a team-high five passes for 31 yards before exiting in the third quarter with a shin injury.
