How bad is Jerry Jones?

One of my last posts was I expect in the next few years of missed playoffs, fans and sponsors will finally leave with a vengeance. Jerry has been fortunate the bottom has not fallen out sooner. Got flamed by a couple of homers that apparently loves whatever Jerry does. I love this team - not the one putting out cow chips over Cowboys.

Where do they come from? The Jones clan is here to stay, for a long time and so will the fans, if they are real fans. I hate the fact that the Cowboys have not had success, but there is no way in hell I jump ship!

So anything short of requiring higher math should just be dumbed down to gross characterizations, cliche's, and meme's?

His track record is mostly told as "DERP DERP .500 over my cherry picked range DERP." That .500 is the characterized as "absolutely terrible." To me .500 is the very definition of average. In fact if you were to take the average W/L of all the games played in all professional sports ever you would get .500.

But hey who cares about an objective standard? That's too analytical and that is only worthwhile in engineering and particle physics. As an engineer I think that is absolutely asinine.

According to ESPN Dallas, the Cowboys will release RT Doug Free with a post-June 1 designation if he does not accept a pay cut before then.
Per beat writer Tim McMahon, the Cowboys have an offer on the table and "hope he accepts it." If not, they'll cut Free and sign a free agent replacement, preferably Tyson Clabo. It's unclear what owner/GM Jerry Jones is waiting for; Clabo would be a sizable upgrade on Free and probably cost the same amount as the pay-cut proposal, if not less. With age, Jones has become less and less willing to admit past mistakes. He blundered by signing Free to a four-year, $32 million in 2011, and can't bring himself to part with the player.

We just don't like to put up with failures and mediocrity - as you are apparently so willing to do. Or maybe its just that you don't want to talk about the eight hundred pound gorilla in the room when trying to discuss the last 17 years while not complaining about Jerry.

So my suggestion would be for YOU to quit supporting this team and go root for another team that is satisfied being mediocre to bad (Jacksonville and Cleveland come to mind). We complain about Jerry because we realize he is at the root of all problems with the team that we love. Does the phrase "Socks to Jocks" ring any bells? We all realize Jerry is going nowhere as long as fans like you continue to support his failures and put money in his pockets, but we don't have to like it and we will speak up about it.

All the REAL COWBOY FANS will continue to criticize Jerry until he decides to change (or he expires - whichever comes first). If you don't like that then either don't read these posts or go support another mediocre team.

He's the worst GM in the league, cause any other GM would have been fired 3 times over in his 17 years stint

I think Jerry is one the most unlikable people in all of pro sports.

I actually disagree with this, he's one of the most likeable people in all of sports. He's just a Godawful GM.

There are multiple constants. You have used your confirmation bias to select one as sole cause it seems.

Here is a logical refutation. Jerry Jones has been GM for more than 17 years. He bought the Cowboys in 1989 and has been the GM ever since. We have won 3 Super Bowls with him as the GM. Therefor Jerry Jones as GM does not prevent the team from winning the Super Bowl.

Personally, I don't think that it is that simple.
