Geesus Bob, stop drinking. One minute you want Butler in, next minute you're eating crow and then next second he's a more athletic Jared Allen?

my opinion of Roy hasn't changed, he still sucks

and the only reason I think Spencer is more athletic than Jared Allen is because I don't think Allen could drop into coverage as well as Spencer does

but am I wrong, is Spencer not a hustle and power player?

If instant evaluators were running this team James, Romo, Austin wouldn't be on this team right now, Rat would be playing DE, and Scandrick would be starting.

he gets by on hustle and power more than speed

Sounds like a strongside 'backer to me. ;)

I dunno, I liked Spencer from the start. He was pretty good even in those first few games as a rookie when Ellis was hurt/being a whiny baby, and he didn't even know what he was doing at that point.

Trust in Wade when it comes to front seven guys. :)

Yeah, I think he's way more athletic than Jared Allen. But that's different from saying he's a more athletic Jared Allen.

I think Jenkins is more athletic than Asomougha but I won't say he's a more athletic Asomougha.

I fully understand. It's more tongue in cheek but the reason I said it is because I made a thread in the offseason that said he wasn't a bust and most people said he'd been a bust and didn't deserve to start. All through the season, if you view my post history (I don't expect you to ofcourse ;)), I've been defending his play and saying he's been getting to the QB even when people kept quoting the no sacks stat.

My boys are just the guys I defend. Roy Williams is another one. Junior Siavii (see avatar) is another one as people were saying he wasn't capable before the season started.

Ha, Ok. Sorry, I mistook you for few others who have their Pet cats and usually try to tout those players to detriment of other players on team. My bad.

Some of us have been saying for a while now that Spencer was playing well. Glad to see his hard work pay some dividends today.

I'll happily eat some crow on Spencer...though i only criticized his pass rushing.

But I've got to see him do some damage against somebody besides the Raiders.

And now Spencer sucks because he only did it against the Raiders, lol.

I've always been on with Spencer *points to sig* but I'd also like to see some consistent sacks like Ware does as well. Although given how hard it is, I'm not expecting one per game, he already does a great job week in and week out with pressures.

Yep. Was glad to see that in addition to the sacks he had a pass defensed today.

First no one is talking about the beat down that Denver laid on the Giants, and now, at least not the day after, is anyone mentioning the great game that Anthony Spencer displayed on Thanksgiving.

First and foremost... Spencer got not one, but count em', two sacks! I knew they'd come. So did Marcus Spears. "He's been there on a lot of occasions," Spears said. "You knew those plays would come. If you guys evaluate the way Spence plays, he's always around the ball. Always. I think you just saw that pay off for him."

Couldn't have said it better myself. I think one has the right to argue that Spencer has probably had a more impressive season up to this point than DeMarcus. Now before you go into fits of rage, just listen. I'm not saying Ware is still not the best defender on the team, nor am I saying Ware is not making any plays, because Ware is always a beast. But even for Spencer's lack of sacks this season, he has been a monster against the run, and against defending the pass, and in QB pressures. It's just that everyone loves the sexy stat, the sack totals. Give me the all-around game over sacks any day. Sacks are just the icing on the cake.

#93 in my opinion is living up to his 1st round billing. The sacks will come, eventually. Just don't knock the level that Anthony is playing at. He is one of the main reasons why the defense is getting better each week.

He looks physical and when he locks on a player they seem to hit the turf.

We talked about Spencer yesterday.

Stop assuming that since you don't see a thread on the first page that no one was talking about this stuff. You just got here late is all.
